Re: WHAT IA THE LOCKING PATTERN TO RESET KEY TO EMOBLISER...
This is a dealer only repair,as the OBD II connector uses manufacturers pin that are not in a OBD II compliant connector that one can buy over the counter.older cars can be repaired using brainbee or a reflex handheld computer but these cost around 5000€ .New cars use a rolling encryption ,the software is not available and its dealer only as the software is in the factory and to access it you need a digital signature /computer identity and confirmation of telephone line.best advice buy a classic

it could be a problem with the central locking unit. you would need to have the system red on a obd read that does this part of the vehicle, you could try to reset the system key in ignition turn to number 2, press fob doors should lock and unlock with the button pressed. as for the side door this is controlled by the front door on that side this door has to be locked and the pin moved in the lock to send the power to lock the side door. with the central locking not working on the system and you manually locking it it may not be going all the way to lock both doors. or the central locking is not working at all. the fuse for central locking is in the main fuse box.
Was the car battery disconnected before this central locking problem. Also is the central locking system operated by remote. If yes, then is the remote battery new or old.If the battery in remote is old then try with new battery. Also if the central locking is controlled by a push button in the car then it can be the problem with push button switch .The switch on driver side is got short. It has to be checked with meter to confirm the fault.Apply a direct 12 volt external battery to the switch and check if the central locking is getting done. Also confirm if you can lock the doors manually by using a car key.If you are not able to lock the door with key manually then its faulty door latch. But if the door lock and unlock manually with out any problem then this problem is related to central locking switch or the remote.
Providing central locking works when you insert key in lock, try programming keys
Enter car make sure all doors/windows are shut
Switch ignition on and off, remove key
PRESS AND HOLD UNLOCK BUTTON ON KEY
Press lock button on key 3 times whithin 10 seconds and release unlock
Central locking will lock/unlock rapidly to confirm reset
If your key is the type with bmw logo in the middle battery replacement is not possible,as it charges as you drive
Providing no faults on central locking, and battery in key is ok try reprograming key
Switch ignition on
PRESS AND HOLD lock button 10 seconds
Switch ignition off
Wait 5 seconds
Check central locking has reset
unlock the car with the key/hold over for 30 secs.
lock the car with the key/hold over 30 secs.
then press/hold down unlock button on remote.
you have just reset your alarm/central locking system
change remote batteries every 2 years...... both remotes....
the gas flap is operated with the central locking, stand at rear of car with tailgate open, just inside to the right, under the floormat you will find the central locking pump.but first renew the batteries in the remotes then unlock the car with the key and hold the key over for 30 secs, the windows may go down,
then lock the car with the key and hold over for 30 secs, the windows may go up and the sunroof,if fitted will close, then unlock with remote button held down for 30 secs, this will reset alarm/central locking.
if you need to get to gas flap, pull carpet away in boot behind flap area and pull wire to unlock....
You must reset your remote control in order for the lock/unlock to work properly.
To reset remote you would: 1)Insert Key in Ignition Turn to Position 1(Don't Start the Engine) for about 5 seconds 2)Turn Key Off and HOLD the LOCK button on Remote while pressing the UNLOCK 3 TIMES 3)Release both lock and unlock buttons you are holding 4)All doors should automatically unlock
Maybe you can try this procedure to resyn your key. Initialization Procedure.
1. Open central locking system using the car key. 2. Get into the car and close all doors. 3. Using the car key, switch the ignition lock briefly to position "1" and then switch off again. (Please do this switching within 5 seconds or otherwise the system is not ready for initialization. 4. At the remote control key. Press the "OPEN" key (->) and keep holding. 5. When holding the "OPEN" key, press the "LOCK" button three time. 6. After pressing the "LOCK" button 3 times, release the "OPEN" button. 7. If the initialization process is sucessful, the door will lock and unlock immediately to confirm the process.
