Check and see if the BELT to the generator is still ON& "TIGHT" and change the battery-then worry about the generator if that didnt help...;)

If you look in back of the engine, you will see a hole. There is a scale for the timing there. Hook up your timing light and start the engine and you will see a mark. Line up the mark to the 6 degree mark on the scale
