Since this is done electrically today with no light on dash I would check the switch that you move to engage the 4X4 action.

SOURCE: Dosent go into 4 wheel drive with the dash knob. 4

Your front drive axle and transfer case is controlled by the General Electronic Module (GEM) as well as by vacuum lines. The problem could be in the switches, the shift motor, the wiring, the vacuum lines, or a failure of the GEM. It would be best to scan your GEM for fault codes before any attempt at diagnosis.

How do I put my Chevy trail blazer 2005 LS in 4 wheel drive

look on the dash for a 4wd button or switch. may be located between the steering wheel and the radio. when you turn the knob to select 4hi, 4lo, 2hi, or auto, the indicator light above the corresponding selection will flash until the shift has completed. if the light stays flashing there is a fault in the 4wd system

4 wheel drive does not engage when turning knob

Check fuse for transfer case. Check electrical connector to transfer case. Listen for transfer case motor running when switch is activated.

Wont shift into 4wd automatically or manually

I would say the shift actuator my have gone bad. You should check all your fuses for the four wheel drive system with a test light or voltmeter. If their all good see if you can get your hands on a scan tool to check for a code. A four wheel drive problem may not illuminate the check engine light but the computer may still store a code.

You'll need to have someone with a scanner check the body computer for trouble codes.
The computer found a problem with the system.

My kia soernto 4x4 light flishing

I assume that the vehicle has a rotating knob on the left side of the dash for four wheel drive. It may have been put into 4 low by mistake. To get it out, start the vehicle and put it in drive, select 4 low on the 4 wheel drive selector, take your foot off the brake and get the vehicle rolling at a walking pace (1-2 m.p.h.) then move the selector to 4 high, stop the vehicle and move selector to 2 high

When i engage four wheel drive from the lever in the car i only get traction on the rear wheels. Is there a diff lock i need to engage

It depends, look at the hubs on your front wheels? Is there a knob in the center of the wheels? If so, then turn this knob to the right and you will have engaged the 4 wheel drive? If you do this, however, make sure you engage the 4 wheel drive inside the truck (if your truck has a 4 wheel drive gear shifter).
Oh other Rangers you have a knob on the inside of the cab it should be somewhere on the dash. You can turn it to the right and this will engage the 4 wheel drive.
Finally, when you engage the 4WD make sure the engine is cut off so it doesn't mess up your transfer case.

1993 f-150 headlight switch removal? Take dash apart or is there a better way? No access to the switch from under dash.

the pull switch for the hed lights snaps in place, if you pull out to turn the lights on and turn the knob as to dim the lights you'll see a notch in the knob. with a small screw driver or pick tool you can lift a metal tab and remove the knob, then remove to two trim pieces left and right of the steering wheel and there will be two 1/4 in nut drive screws, remove those and the gage cluster dash trim can be pulled right off exposing the head light switch

Put car into low 4 wheel drive, then switched it back to auto...but the light on dash still says low 4wd. How bad a problem and can we continue to drive it local ...feels like in low 4wd?

To get into low and to get out of low you are suppose to put the vehicle in neutral. Its not suppose to shift without using the neutral position once the gear is selected. The knobs and lights on the dash will not response correctly without going into neutral.

You should be back to normal once you follow the procedure. You should not over rev the engine by driving in low, so watch your tachometer and do not exceed 3000 rpm.

I have a 2000 Honda Accord EX V6 the dash lights will not come on. I checked the fuse and it was not blown. what could be causing this problem?

the knob or wheel that turns on your dome light is the first thing I would check...the wheel or knob needs to be turned to the right all teh way until u hear a click that turns on ur dome light. That also turns on ur dash lights..or at least it should be the same button/knb or wheel that ur thumb can turn. hope this helps...Owners manual should also tell u where its at..under the category "Interior lights".

08 Yaris, Dashlights/radio/ and nobs lights do not come on

I had the same problem. On the the dash on the left side near the steering wheel, there is a wheel like knob. Roll the knob until your dash lights come on when you have the headlights on. If its rolled in one direction they're off in the other they're on.
