Headliner removal w/out destroying trim?

Just wanted to know (yea, I didn't get a manual): how to pop the inside plastic trim (all the way around) and removal of front o'poop handles w/out destroying it. I havn't looked at the roofbrake indicator to see if that will be easy either. Been looking for an easy diagram....sigh. Any input before I start pulling on it? Thanks guy's.

Well, the "o'poop" handles should of screw covers that pop off, one on each side for 2 screws. For the other trim panels always start on one end and work your way to the other. They make panel tools that look like a bent flat head screw driver that does make it a little easier but I never had one until I already tore mine apart. Just be careful when you start pulling on stuff and be sure to pull straight out (if you do end up breaking a clip or two it's usually not a big deal)

How to remove interior trim to remove headliner board on 2003 xterra

You will want to purchase a trim tool at your local auto arts store and gently pry under the trim to pop it up. This can also be done with a screwdriver, but is a lot faster and safer with the proper tool.

I have 2001 VW Jetta4 1.9 TDI. The boot is jammed and can't open using central locking or the key. What must I do

Luckily you have a hatch back. Unluckily, you will probably end up breaking some plastic to get it open. Borrow or go to the parts store and get a trim "pop" tool - they know what you are talking about; it\'s a flat fork to stick behind trim panels and "pop" them loose.

From inside the trunk space, you will need to remove the inside hatch trim. Look for any screws and remove them first; pay special attention around any hand holds and look for any small covers that need to be removed. Once you have any/all screws removed, slide your "pop" tool behind plastic and move it left or right until you hit something. At this point attempt to pry the panel; it should "pop" loose. Go around as much of the panel as possible popping the tabs loose. Once you are convinced you have as many as you can find, you are going to have to take a leap of faith and "jerk"; hopefully the damage will be minimal.

Once inside the latch should be down at bottom center. It will have a rod coming from the latch to a mechanism that usually breaks. You can manually flip/rotate the lever on the latch left or right/up or down (either by hand or by tool) to make it open. You can find repair parts now on eBay to fix the problem once you get it open.

Hope this helps!

Headliner Replacement

You'll need to remove all the plastic trim around the headliner and the plastic clips holding the headliner up. There are a few places on the internet to get replacement headliner material.

I need to know how to replace the motor for the sunroof and, is there a way to manually close the sunroof until we do get the motor fixed? we replaced the switch...but, that didn't fix it. (the sunroof is...

This can be really tricky to get at if you want it done properly and neatly. You'd have to remove all the trim on the inside of the car that covers the headliner and then slowly pull the headliner down which will be held on by Velcro fasteners and some glue. You have to be gentle as the headliner may rip if you're too rough. Once the headliner is removed, you can get to the motor and cables. You'll be able to disconnect the cable connecting the sunroof and manually close it, and then re-secure the cable temporarily.

How to remove a headliner from 2007 nissan panthfinder

The first thing that you will want to do is to remove any and all trim that may be around the headliner. From there you need to remove the light assembly on the roof of the car. After that you need to carefully pull the headliner off and make sure that you remember that there is a fastener of some type near the middle of the headliner. It could be velcro or some sort of adhesive. After this it should be totally down.

1997 SL Saturn Headliner Removel

search google for the saturn fourms they had detailed instructions with pics . The short answer is all plastic trim around the top or doors from the windshield to the back window. The top of the dash needs to come off too It just pops off pretty easy . all clips you can see when the trim is pulled back a bit from the bottom and use a screwdriver to pry the clip out or it will break . you need a star wrench set to remove the setbelt bolts. the passenger handle is a pain I cant remember that one .

Headliner removal

this is not an easy repair w/o damaging the headliner. There is nothing up there except maybe a roof brace. Check the luggae rack again by trying to move all the peices. One must be loose.
there are 27 steps!
If equipped, remove the overhead console.
  1. Remove the screw and disconnect the electrical connectors
  2. If equipped, remove the electronic compass sensor.
  3. If equipped, disconnect the auto dimming interior mirror connector.
  4. Remove the interior/map reading lamp. For additional information, refer to Section 417-02 .
    • Upon installation, make sure the notch in the headliner aligns with the tab on the interior/map reading lamp bracket.
  5. Disconnect the roof opening panel electrical connector and the wire connector pin-type retainer.
  6. Remove the gimp around the roof opening panel.
    1. Remove the sun visors. For additional information, refer to Sun Visor in this section.
    1. Position aside the door opening weatherstrips
  7. NOTE: Installing the LH side sun visor clip will support front of headliner while working on headliner.
Install the LH side sun visor retainer clip.
    • Loosely install the screw.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector and the wiring pin-type retainers on the A-pillar.
    1. Release the upper B-pillar trim panel clips and position aside the upper B-pillar trim panel.
Release the C-pillar trim panel clips and position aside the C-pillar trim panel
    1. Remove the rear upper headliner trim panel.
    2. Remove the D-pillar trim panel.
    Vehicles with rear climate control
    1. Remove the rear auxiliary A/C controls.
      • Disconnect the electrical connectors
    2. Position aside the LH rear quarter trim panel.
    3. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
    4. Remove the pin-type retainers and the upper air duct.
      • Push down on the air duct, tilt the top outward and pull upward to remove the air duct
    5. Remove the lower air duct.
    6. Disconnect the electrical connector located at the C-pillar.
      • Release the wiring harness pin-type retainers.
    7. : To prevent damage to the coat hanger retainer, use a 3/16-inch flat-blade screwdriver for this step. Remove the third row coat hooks.
      • Open the access cover.
      • Insert a screwdriver into the coat hook slot and turn the screwdriver 90 degrees so that it engages in the plastic component slot. This will spread the steal attachment clip wings to allow the plastic component to disengage. The steal clip will stay engaged in the sheet metal.
    8. Remove the rear headliner pin-type retainer.
    9. NOTE: An assistance is required to help support the center of the headliner for the remaining steps.

        • Open the access cover and remove the screw.
      3. NOTE: Rear seats must be folded down and front seats reclined back for this step.
