Hi check the fuses see if the fuel pump is working and the pumps relay are the main problems after that your down to the ecu i presume the battery went dead and you have had to charge it or jump start the car thats why i would start at the fuses and relay first yates210456

I hope this helps. I had a problem on a couple of different Mitsubishi's where the battery went dead and all the major components were good. No warning lights came on. Check the fuse block . Not the standard fuses but the specialty fuses, the block fuses. Look at them carefully with a flashlight.Test them with voltage meter if necessary. Make sure that one is not blown. With any luck a dollar fuse will turn everything back on.

Car has been sitting up for two year. Bought new

put good gas in it, high octane to compensate for the old gas in it, and if it still doesnt start make sure its getting gas, if so look to plugs, wires and rotor and cap, gas generally goes bad after about 6 months with no stabilizers in it

I have a 1990 Cadillac Deville that has been sitting for approximately a year. I have put a new battery, new plugs, and it has fuel and is getting fuel pressure. It will not start, it turns over but will...

If it was running fine prior to sitting, then the timing is probably OK. If it was sitting because of a blown head gasket then that's another story.
Did you check the pressure with a guage or just by probing the test port and watching fuel come out?
Make sure you are getting spark (probe the plug wire as close to the plug as possible with a test light or remove the plug from the engine, put back in wire and watch the plug for spark). If good move on to the coil, etc. Check the ignition relay.
Check the compression

1990 crx base model honda civic want start

I would suggest an ignition module. If it is a rough idle at startup I would check the throttle position sensor. You can check that by starting the car and unplugging the TPS. If the car runs differently then chances are it is working fine.

Still wondering

is there water in oil or oil in coolant?those cars have bad rep for heads and head gaskets blowing....
sounds like head gasket blew, water sucked into cyl.
check spark plug if might have wet contact from water in cyl.

Timing or ecu throwing a code

easiest way to check for a broken timing belt is to look into the oil fill hole on valve cover and have someone crank engine. see if you can see the cam move. if not moving, timing belt is broken. if it is moving it is not broken but still may be off a tooth or more. at that point you will need to remove timing covers and check timing marks. these cars are very simple and you can learn alot by spending 20 bucks on a basic haynes type repair manual.

My 1991 crx

Few possibilities exist. The fuel pump is most likely..This is given the fuel filter is in good shape. The coil and ignitor (in the distributor cap) is also a common problem.

Car had blown head gasket, sat for about 2 years. Fixed head issue now has run issue. Changed fuel but it runs ok for a few minutes then either sputters or dies just like the key had been turned off. I...

Is it fuel injected? Or carburated?
If it has a carb, did you clean out the float bowels and jets?
If it's injected, you may need to clean or replace the injector nozzles.
Fuel that has been sitting for 2 years can turn to varnish.

And after you replaced the head gaskets, did you do a compression check on the motor?
