Question about 2004 Chevrolet Aveo
Car was running , driving ok. Stopped to let passsenger out. Loud noise sounded like heard under the car. Went into reverse and pressed gas and did not move. Placed into drive and did not move. Put in park and turned it off. Tried to restart and it would not. Car battery ok, it was cranking. Engine temperture about half way. Opened hood no visible leaking nor broken parts or belts. Previous to this car running louder than normal (purring sound). Did not see any gauges or indicators out of normal. Mileage at 75000. Tried to retstart later in case of vapor lock, same results. Did notice that even though car was hot (drove 8-10 miles, but had been driving more about an hour before. Fans to radiators were not spinning.
Daughters 2004 Aveo stopped dead on freeway. Plastic thermostat on engine and melted off. Chevy said it blew the engine, searched on line and found 17 pages of same complaint. Chevy repaired car for free. Still not worth the worry. But if this is your problem, fight it don't pay for repairs!

I would agree jele100 I would most definitely try to get chevy to repair it. Of course, this happened to me about a week ago and I was so pissed. I wish I would have known chevy could fix it. So you should try that.
