Question about 2007 Toyota Yaris

Vitz 2005 ABS light and Speedo

As I wrote in the forum, I have a 2005 vitz on which I had the front wheel bearings changed. Subsequently I discovered following problems. The ABS light alongwith the brake light stays ON, as well as the speedometer is not working. I got the sensors removed and installed again after cleaning, but had no joy. I have now read that there is an ABS Sensor Ring in each hub. Could this be a problem. Moreover, why is the Speedo not working, I have tried to see any loose wires near the gear box, but found none. Interestingly, I had to take my car on a long drive due to my house change, and it performed well, even with these lights on, and no speedometer. Please advise how I can put the ABS and speedo back in order.

You are right.. i have got it fixed 3 months ago. The sensor rings (magnetic coated) from the old bearings were not installed on to the new bearings. Luckily i had the old bearings, which i brought to the toyota workshop, and they opened the new bearings, fixed the rings, and bingo, both ABS, Speedo and warning lights became ok. I learnt my lesson, never open a system until its working fine. Anyhow since then i have developed a great love and respect for this beautiful car, Vitz or Yaris, called so elsewhere.

As a toyota technician, its probably the wrong fitted of the ring, once you replace the bearing they will removed the ring and in that ring there is a small hole that the sensor goes in. speedometer will not work not work if there is a malfunction in abs and it is speedometer, brake warning light are integrated with abs ecu.

I have a Toyota Vitz 2007 KSP90 and I was told that it is dirty that is why my ABS and Handbreak warning lights are on how do i locate it and clean it.

If it is the HALL sensor at the wheels, it is the small nub at the end of the electrical cable going down to each brake caliper. There is teeth on the rotor that pass very close to this device that generates a small AC current that the ABS system picks up telling it that the wheel is in motion. If the sensor is too far away (or dirty?) it wont register and the ABS will think the wheel is not moving, ie. locked up in a skid.

I've changed the engine on toyota vitz 2003 model all running fine on mechanical side but the engine light, abs light and hand barake light stays on while engine running please could some 1 tell wh

No idea in all honesty and i would need a play under the bonnet to find the problem but my main suspect would be a damaged wiring loom ,caused by taking the engine out the top ,i always lower the engine out through the bottom thus ensuring less damage to anything

I am using toyota vitz 1999 model falt is simple the car is running after 1 hour screen abs signal an after few min stop engine and totaly off car system.after 1 or 2 min then i am starting engine then...

not sure exactly what you mean but iam assuming you mean the ABS light comes on then the vehicle stops ?' if this is the case clean the sensors on each wheel as they could be dirty with a lot of metal dust sticking to the sensors ,which is throwing the light on which is causing the computer to detect a fault and shut the car down

Toyota Vitz 2003: (ABS and HandBrake warning light constantly on)

this is a common first sign of your antilock brake computer failing. You will most likely never feel a difference in your car but there is a slight chance all your safety features will not operate properly in a collision.

Vitz abs light

The most likely cause is that the wheel speed sensor wire got stretched during disassembly, and needs to be replaced not. If the wires arent disconnected from the hub, or strut during disassembly, they get pulled and yanked and the wires inside stretch to far, but you cant see it because the outside looks ok. Happens all the time.
