P0700 Transmission Control System Malfunction OBD-II Trouble Code Technical Description Article by Dale Toalston ASE Certified Technician Transmission Control System TCS Malfunction What does that mean? Many vehicles have a control module for the automatic transmission called a transmission control module (TCM). The engine control module (ECM) communicates with the TCM to monitor the automatic transmission for faults. If the TCM detects a fault in the automatic transmission and sets a transmission related fault code, the ECM is informed of this also and sets a P0700 in the ECM memory. This illuminates the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) to let the driver know there is a problem. If this code is present and the MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp) is illuminated that basically means there is at least one transmission code set in the TCM's memory. P0700 is an informational code only. It doesn't point to a direct fault in the engine, only a general fault in the transmission. More diagnosis is necessary to identify what the transmission fault is. This requires a scan tool that will communicate with the transmission module. Symptoms Symptoms of a P0700 DTC may include: Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination The transmission may exhibit drivability problems like slipping, etc. Causes More often then not, the cause of this code is that there is a transmission problem of some kind. The TCM detected the problem and set a code. P0700 means that a fault code is stored in the TCM. However this doesn't rule out the possibility of a failed PCM or TCM (unlikely). Possible Solutions For a P0700 the only real solution is to acquire a scan tool that will communicate with the transmission control module. Extracting this code from the TCM will be the first step in repairing the fault in the transmission. If the TCM compatible scan tool will not communicate with the Transmission Control Module then that is a good indication that there may be a fault with the TCM itself. Both codes (obviously) point to transmission
DTC P0700 - Transaxle Control System Fault
Conditions The P0700 code is for information only and the next step is
to check for transaxle codes in the Transaxle Control Module (TCM). So you'll
have to have the dealer or another qualified shop/technician pull the transaxle
codes from the TCM and go from there.
DTC P2706 - Shift Solenoid "F" First check your wiring before
you get inside and open the ****** up. Could be loose wiring, if not do
the operation and make sure you do a heat test with the solenoid before
you replace it.
Hope this helps and just keep in mind that your feedback is important

It's an issue with the pressure sensor in the power-steering lines, it needs replacement, if you're going to do this yourself, make sure you do it quickly and try to catch any fluid that might drain from the line in a clean bowl, that way you can reuse it, after installing the new sensor, refill the power-steering fluid and turn the steering wheel lock to lock 20 times, that should bleed any air from the system.
It is possible that there are other causes, but if you just want to replace the output speed sensor:
it should be easy enough to find. it will be along the tail shaft pointing perpendicular to the drive shaft. It will have two wires for a harness. simply unplug the sensor, put a drop pan under it in case some fluid drops out. then just wrench it out, install the new one and hook everything back up. check fluid level if applicable... good luck
Did they erase them by any chance? 2 out of the 3 come up transmission related. Does it feel likes it shifting funny or hard or anything? Not sure if unhooking battery will work on that year or not but worth a try if vehicle seems to shift fine. Then if codes come back, have it checked and repaired at that time, it may be a simple update needed to computer.
