Question about 1989 Ford Mustang
I have a 1989 mustang 5.0 and when i started it the other day the starter stuck on and I had to unhook the battery to stop it. after replacing the starter and soliniod it still does it so assuming it is the ignition switch ... can I bypass the ignition swith with an under the dash toggle switch?
The ignition switch isn't hard to replace. Take the column covers off and you'll have to buy tamper proof torx bits to remove the mounting screws. Just unplug the old switch and plug in the new one. The new switch will have new mounting screws with it. It should only take you 20 minutes to replace it even if you've never done it before. Check the operation of the lock and tumbler as well. It's an easy replacement as well. This one only should take you 5 minutes.
