Question about 1998 BMW 7 Series
My car want start after ny batt went dead i tried to jump it and i get no click ir crank just the lights come on then i took it to get the batt recharge when i put the batt back in tried nothing happen again then i left for bout a couple of hours now the batt is dead
Battery is in trunk compartment. Must be positioned exactly and locked down. Not easy to do and keep in position unless using BMW battery. There is a slight size difference (BMW wants to sell their batteries - at inflated price.) Save yourself the headaches and get BMW battery. In the meantime, just move your battery position a little bit until trunk light comes on. Car will start if trunk light is on - unless the problem is really something else. Hope this helps. Let me know.

I would first check the condition of the battery. If the battery is okay, that is it puts out enough current to operate the starter. I would then check for a short. The battery would be dead in a couple of hours only if there is a short or another load on the battery.
