I have a 1991 Dakota it has two trouble codes on is#12 memory standby power lost the other is # 27 injector output circuit not responding what does this mean and to fix it

Code 12 is more or less common, code 27 is a problem with the injector or the circuit.
You may need to research the code 27 to get the testing procedure and the wiring diagram. Usually the reason for the code is too much resistance in the circuit or an open circuit. The computer grounds the injector to make it open.

What is a memory standby power lost?

When the ignition is off, the computer will draw a very few milliamps of power for the keep alive memory, just like your clock and radio pre-sets. If the memory is lost as when battery is disconnected, the computer has to relearn certain functions related to the particular wear patterns of your engine and drivetrain-it has to relearn how to set optimum fuel requirements and ignition advance based on how your engine runs.
The circuit for this keep alive memory is called Ignition Off Draw, or IOD. There should be a small fuse, 10 or 15 amp, in the circuit, probably in the under hood fuse block. See if your fuse is good for it.

The numbers are grouped in twos.
12 Memory standby power lost (this means that you must have disconnected your battery. It will turn off in the next 50 key cycles.
34 Speed control vacuum or vent control solenoid circuits.
32 EGR system
55 end of codes it will always flash 55 informing you that it is finished

1995 dodge dakota computer error code 12,back up memory power lost. how to fix?

This code only means that you have disconnected the power to the PCM.
This code will stay until 50 key turns have been completed from the last time you disconnected the battery.
Your check engine light should not be on if this is your only code.
If this helps and one give some feed back
Hope this helped FixYa.

1993 dodge dakota 4*4 codes are in order as

12= Standby memory power lost
27= PCM to injector failure
15 = No VSS reference
55 = Completion of fault code display

With the given codes and the way it is running I would say that you are having either a issue with the PCM ground and or the main connector to the PCM. Intermittent failure in the plug would cause these cascade codes with a misfire.

I would inspect the plug and make sure there is a good verifiable ground from the cab to the frame even to the transmission itself. The cabs of these trucks have notoriously bad grounding. Best to establish a new one rather than chase the old one and assume it is ok. Small gauge wire with terminals will suffice.

You may also be noticing that the volt and temp gauges go up and down slightly with the turn signal when it is activated? Radio may also freak out at louder volume settings if the ground in the cab is compromised.

12 means your battery has been dead or disconnected recently, no need to worry about it. I think it was something like 50 starts before it goes away, if at all.
