How to get your honda radio or navigation code free online instead of paying a...

Needing a new battery or your car dying is inevitable. When this happens your fancy radio or navigation will need a code. This is to prevent someone from stealing the radio and being able to use it. If you go to a dealer you can almost bet they will charge upwards of a 100$ or more depending on the dealer and your location.
Thankfully Honda has a website that just requires some information and you can get the code for your vehicle. Entering the code can vary but most times the radio will say code and you use the station presets to enter the code in. Look for more tips to come for specific vehicles.

Step 1: This is the only step. Just follow this link and enter the required information.

Hope you find this and all my other tips helpful, Thanks again!

Just changed battery on my freelander but haven't got the code for the radio can you help please

Hi,

We may be able to help with this but need more information. Each radio has its own individual security code. There is no blanket code that covers Freelanders for example.

You will need to supply the serial number and part number of the radio itself so we can identify what radio you have. This will involve removing the radio from the dash to find the serial number which is on a label at the back or stamped into the metal casing of the radio itself.

Post this information up and we can advise from there.

Many thanks for using FixYa.

Radio code

I have a 2001 Mitsubishi Sport. I was doing some work to my battery and my radio locked out. I put a code in that I thought it would be and after 3 codes it would not let me add anymore codes. I took my vehicle to the dealership(no charge) and he went in and got the serial numbers off of the radio and looked into his computer and gave me the code. Of course the radio was locked out. He told me I had to have the ignition turned on for 30-45 minutes and the radio would reset for me to put the code in. I let it sit in the garage for an hour and went back out and it worked. I just put the code it.

Factory stereo code

Factory radio codes are an anti-theft deterrent, they are unique to each radio and car serial number, in order to get the code the dealer will have to access the manufacturers data base, you will need to pull the radio and record the radio model number and the serial number of the chassis of the radio and take it to the dealer, they will not in most cases give the info out over the phone, this would defeat the whole purpose of the code.

clean and recharge your cold air filter, if you never had it cleaned, you can buy the recharge kit for your cold air filter, follow the instructions, if that doesn't work check your mass air flow sensor, have your mechanic clean it and test it.
