98 pontiac sunfire starts fine for weeks, then won't start every other day. Engine turns over, just won't start. Had starter replaced, ignition switch, replaced, transmission redone, Somebody mentioned it may be the ignition module (whatever that is) Single mom, gets stranded-only car. HELP please?

Where does a cold start sit on a chev spark 0.8 2008 and can that cause it not to start?

sounds like it needs a good tuneup, and maybe a battery! most cars start in about 5-10 seconds, even on a cold morning.if all is ok. good-day!

Car is cranking fine but will not start

the easy way to find out the problem is get some starting fluid and take the mass airflow sensor out and spray some in there and it will got to your throttle body or you could just spray in the body and if it starts and then dies you know that you have lost fuel but if it doesnt start then you lost spark if your car has a fuel rail and the car starts and then stops you can check to see if you have fuel pressure on the fuel rail there is a big bolt on the rail crack open a hair and have someone turn the over to energize the pump not on but over if fuel sprays out then you have pressure but if it still doesnt start then change your fuel filter chances are that its clogged but if its spark change your spark plugs and wires and if that doesnt do it then change the distributor or if you have coil on coil then change all the spark plug coils

Going70 MPH cut off & won't crank

@ items of concern spark or fuel. For spark as you crank the engine ,assuming that you have a tach on the dash.Does the tach show movement(this will be very small) if it does you have a fuel problem if it doesnt then you will need a crank position sensor

Car will turn over but will not start

You will need to pin point the problem , by finding out what is lacking fuel or spark, try spraying starting fluid into the throtlebody and see if the engine starts but will cut back off once the spray is bruned up, but if it starts for a few seconds then you will know its a fuel problem,if it runs then you may have a bad fuelpump, the pump is located inside the fuel tank.if it doesnt then check for spark at the sparkplugs, to do this you will pull a sparkplug wire from a sparkplug insert a screwdriver into the boot of the wire you pulled off and place it near a metal part nearby and have someone spin the engine as you watch for it to spark, this will tell you if it has spark or not, also remove the dist cap and spin the key again and see if it sparks inside the dist, and also watch and see if the rotor in the distributor turns, the turning rotor tells if the timing belt broke if it doesnt spin while trying to start the engine, if the rotor is turning and theres no spark then you may have a bad distributor.do these tests and let me know the results and i can help you more, good day.

Car runs for ten min then dies

Not sure what kind of car this is or year and etc, you will need to get the car to die and start with a couple of tests to see whats not working. next time it doesnt start, try spraying starting fluid into throtle and see if it starts and dies, if it does then we know its a fuel problem and may be fuelpump. if that doesnt make it start then remove a spark plug wire and place it near a metal object like the motor or a bracket and have someone try to start it and watch for sparks, if theres no spark then you may want to have the control module tested or the coil, hope this is helpful,

1986 nova all at once it started missing no oil in coolant

I'd personally start by checking the basic ignition components; spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap and rotor. If any of these items are damaged, worn or just no longer up to specification then they're likely to be the culprit. Mine just went through a spate of stalling and wouldn't restart because the wires were no longer insulating properly...weak spark, wouldn't ignite the fuel.

Let us know if this helps, and if not try to provide some more detail regarding the conditions when this is occuring.
