2 Answers

I HAVE A 1994 vOLKSWAGEN gOLF, YESTERDAY MY HUSBAND TOOK BATTERY OUT AND HAD TO PUT NEW ONE IN AND NOW THE CAR WILL NOT START AND HAZARDS ARE STAYING ON. iT HAS A VDO ELECTRONIC SO i AM FIGURING THAT IS WHY IT IS NOT STARTING BUT HOW DO i FIX THIS. it sounds like we're sharing a problem. I have recently acquired a 1990 mk2 golf 1.3lt with digijet fuel injection system; have got it through the mot, returned home, disconnected the battery to tidy  the earth strap and now it won't start - (did touch the positive lead against the bodywork). the engine turns over, the spark-plugs spark, fuel is pumped, i'm getting electric power at the injector plugs but the damn thing won't kick into life! Any input?

Look in yourowners manual for unlocking security alarm. I believe on these you need to put key into drivers door and turn to the left and hold for a second or 2. Try it. Good Luck, JERROD

Vw golf 1994 indicators

Most Golf and Jetta have their relays bunched together with the fuse block. Often, it would be inside the fuse box/compartment located under the facia panel, on the right-hand side, behind a removable cover. On most models, the flasher relay would be labeled 21.

Incidentally, sometime ago, there was a recall on some Golf where Volkswagen dealers will install a new hazard flasher switch/relay kit to remedy a common issue. You may want to try first Volkswagen at 1-800-822-8987.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
