Are you sure the TV ( trans shift cable at the throttle valve) cable is correctly adjusted?? Without line pressure readings, I can only guess that the D3/Part throttle check ball is missing, if it is a trans problem
If the TV is correct, I am assuming that the TV cable is pulled tight at WOT.
Did you check the throttle (ACCEL) cable to be sure that the carb goes wide open when your accel pedal is on the floor?? This must be done with someone in the car and a second person looking at the carb. Without doing this, you do not know if you have WOT. Without WOT, the trans will not de-tent and shift down.

SOURCE: 700R4 automatic transmission won't upshift

Check the TV cable, it may need to be adjusted or it may be binding and jammed. There could also be a problem with a broken governor gear since it's made of plastic, driver's side near the back of the main case under a round case. If it's is the governor gear replace it with the roll pin and filter just to make sure there are no broken parks that may have been caught by the filter. Good luck and hope this helps.

I Had My Transmission Rebuilt And The Transmission Has Been Replaced 3 Times Already Because Transmission Shifts Late And Passing Gear Kicks In Late What Could Be Going Wrong With The Transmission?

The shift point are set wrong or else the trans is getting the signal to shift late. Not sure what trans we are talking about but check and make sure the vacuum line in not bad or else a switch is bad on the trans that tells it when to shift.

Transmission is not shifting to different gears on its own. If I move the gear shift on my own it works. What is the problem

There is a sensor which senses the speed and let's the transmission know that it should shift. That is probably bad.Since you are able to shift it yourself and it is not 'herky-jerky' or shifting hard,I would definitely say that particular sensor is bad.You need to be careful shifting manually for too long because it could damage your transmission very badly and very quickly.Good luck,Greg

No movement in any gears

thats a real simple unit, either the pumps input shaft sheared or the drive hub that that shaft engages into the torq converters spot welds broke. happens on rebuilt torq converters from time to time, either way its gota get pulled. a 2wd is very easy to remove and cheap to repair good luck!

Will a 1994 chevy 4l80e 4wd swap into a 1995 GMC

Yes they will swap out nicely, the years where they made the change is in 1997 and the only difference is the transmission end housing has a different bolt pattern but has the same internal parts. You may also want to swap out the servo's with a corvette servo. The cost is around $45.00 and can be done without dropping the transmission pan, this will make your transmission shift firmer and will have less clutch slip[ between gear shifts. Good luck and hope this information helps.

97 GMC Z71 4X4 Not Locking in

If it's a shift - on - the - fly 4wd, then call your local Chevy truck dealer. There was a recall on the Electronic 4wd on these trucks. (common problem). Try this just for the heck of it. With the truck stopped, put in 4hi/lo, then put it in reverse. Back up slightly, (about 5ft or so) and then put it in drive (or first in a manual trans) and go forward. Did it lock in? If it locks in but won't unlock, try backing up to unlock. Hope this helps.
