Ok, the largest laundry list ever posted, and seems a 24year, 200k miles life time list. (all cars do this, not one walks past normal service, btw you skipped bad batteries, water pumps, belts, and wipers and full ash trays (LOL.)
bad ground to the Alt. loose belt did you set tension to spec>?
this post is like the poster child for why old cars are a pain
you have lots of company ,
200k miles. on a Prizm, er its really a Toyota Corolla. 1 of 40 million made, a record. in fact.
are you in the salt belt, (wiki that)?
you posted a huge list of items.
is that 24 year long list or just last year? ??????????????????
let me tick of some causes. (SLAT belt tops my list )
nobody ever say what state they live, making answer WRONG.

Electrical short in the system somewhere. Thats what is burning alternators. Probably in the charging system circuit.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Engine was running too hot, thermostat s/b 180, it was 195, antifreeze solution had too much water, this caused the radiator thermal switch to trip. I think the alternator was either bad, or the excessive heat made it draw too much. Two separate problems.

IF THE WIRE THAT IS HANGING HAS A TERMINAL ON IT WITH A LOOP, THEN LOOK ON THE ALTERNATOR FOR A STUD THAT MAY ACCOMODATE THE WIRE'S LOOP. IF THE WIRE HAS A PLUG THEN LOOK FOR A CONNECTION ON THE BOTTOM OF THE ALTERNATOR. IF NOTHING IS ON THE END OF THE WIRE, THEN HEAD FOR AN AUTO PARTS STORE WHERE THEY WILL HAVE THE APPROPRIATE PLUG OR WIRE CONNECTOR FOR YOUR VEHICLE. HOPE THIS HELPS. THANKS FOR USING FIX-YA. GOOD LUCK. AND THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR AN HONEST RATING.

i1m sorry to say that wheel bearings are not set to a torque specification, when you have repacked the bearings [ inner and outer ] ,reassembled it ,take the nut up until thewheel starts to drag and not turn very far when you try to spin it spin it backward and forward several times, grab the top of the wheel and try to push it in and out,if you getany movement at all tighten the nut a couple of castilations. do it all over again, spinthe wheel a few times and then try for the crossways movement again, if there is no movement ,you are very close to being right....................now comes the experience bit , iwould take it one more castilation of the nut because i know the feel that is need ed,,without that i suggest you put the pin in where you ereput the cap on and go for a 5 minute drive . whenyou get back ,jack it up and thespinning of the wheel again and try for the top crossways movement ,if there is any tighten thenut 2 castilations, and provided that when you try to spin the wheel by hand with a reasonably strong push the wheel should trael about 6 inches at least after your hand leaves it ,it is now a close as you are going to get itput it all to gether and for the next day or so put yor hand on the grease cap after you have driven anydistance, and you will feel it is warm but you should be able tohold your hand on the grease cap. there you have it ,any questions come back."youdoit"
