My 2002 Camry had the same issue. I had to take it into a Toyota dealership and they repaired it for about $50, I think. They told me that it was from overuse of the forward switch and had gone too far forward. They also told me that there was a strong possibility that the next time I will need to replace the motor that moves the seat forward and in reverse.
Hi Usually they are not that hard but if you put some WD40 and let it set for a moment then try to unscrew them. and also just put the right socket and give it some power. Good luck
your diamente, has split rear folding seats, however I can't remember how it operates, I believe the release is on the seat inside the car. you can gain access to the truck this way and there is an emergency trunk release (red handle) inside the trunk.. you can use this to open the trunk.. after you open it check all you mounting hardware for loose bolts or damaged hinges, it sounds as if it has shifted and the latch although is functioning it cannot release the trunk or the mechanism itself is not fully operating
Does the sun roof do anything whebn you press the button. if not, check your fuses and the sun roof switch. If fuses are good you want to check to see if the sun roof motor is getting power. If it is getting power it could be the motor itself. If it tries to move but can't then you have a mechanical problem. it might be binding so try giving it an assist by pushing on it when pressing the switch.
