Problem # 1: My car's steeering wheel is locking up when I turn a corner. I notice it when I'm making right hand turns. However, most of the trip home is right hand turns. The car does NOT die when this happens. but it does feel like it is dying. When it locks I have to pull hard to the left in order to get it from staying in position. I'm very scared. Problem #2: I have another problem that the car IS dying when I first start it. I have to constantly hit the gas in order for the car to stay started. Eventually, it stays on I guess after warming up. If you can help I would greatly appreciate it.

Check the steering wheel lock first of all. The fact it's only doing it on right hand turns makes me think you need to check the steering linkage. It may be hanging up on a plug wire or something, which would make the engine stumble too. It could be hanging up on the subframe too.

If the linkage is free, you will have to pull the key and tumbler and make sure it's disengaging the lock mechanism completely. Just pulling the tumbler out and turn the wheel back and forth will tell you. If the wheel is free, you found the culprit. If it still hangs up, you may need to have a mechanic change the locking mechanism.

The dying when you start it could be several things all working against you. First and foremost, do a complete tune up. That's plugs, wires, cap, rotor, oil change AND air filter. If that doesn't solve the problem, try using a higher octane gasoline and a bottle of octane boost/injector cleaner. If that doesn't work either, you may need to have a mechanic clean and calibrate your injectors.

Many cars have a feature that when the steering wheel is turned after being put into Park, that is locks the steeering wheel until the key is successfully used to start the car. Some Honda and Toyota models do this - you haven't stated your car make and model

Noise in front wheel bearing how to tell which side

Usually the bearing that is seizing will make a noise under stress, this shows up when you turn a corner in the car, eg, if you turn left and the noise is worse than when you turn right, it indicates the left hand front wheel bearing is failing, hope this helps!

Rear on a2004 astro van awd v-6 locks up when making turn's left or right.but does'nt do it when gowing forward or reverse.

Rear end is a lockup dif. This couples both wheels. It has clutches that allow inner and outer weels to turn at different speeds when going around corner, thus eliminating most tire scrub. If noise is coming from dif. change dif oil and redress clutches.Driving in a straight line with a lockup dif. would not normally be noticed, because both rear wheels are travelling at the same speed.

I have a 2009 CRV. Upon getting the car I noticed that it seemed to steer harder to one side than the other. I thought that there might be some air in the power steering pump. So I was told that putting...

lock to unlock can cause the power steering pump to go bad only if you lock for too long. Another thing check your brakes caliper it sound like one is bad. Jack the two front wheel up and try spinning the wheels with hands if it takes a lot of effort then that sid is bad.

The key is stuck in the ignition and will not come out. any ideas?

Oftentimes this is a s a result of turning the car off with the wheels slightly offset. Try grabbing the steering wheel and pull hard to the left while turning the ignition key.

Once the steeering lock breaks loose, move the wheel slightly and then turn the engine off again. The key should remove at this point.

Check the CV joint that the axle connects to. They make a clicking sound when turning a corner if badly worn. Both CV joints are commonly replaced when one of them goes out.
