Check the steering wheel lock first of all. The fact it's only doing it on right hand turns makes me think you need to check the steering linkage. It may be hanging up on a plug wire or something, which would make the engine stumble too. It could be hanging up on the subframe too.
If the linkage is free, you will have to pull the key and tumbler and make sure it's disengaging the lock mechanism completely. Just pulling the tumbler out and turn the wheel back and forth will tell you. If the wheel is free, you found the culprit. If it still hangs up, you may need to have a mechanic change the locking mechanism.
The dying when you start it could be several things all working against you. First and foremost, do a complete tune up. That's plugs, wires, cap, rotor, oil change AND air filter. If that doesn't solve the problem, try using a higher octane gasoline and a bottle of octane boost/injector cleaner. If that doesn't work either, you may need to have a mechanic clean and calibrate your injectors.
