1997 Dodge 1500 4X4 roaring in front end. Dont do it all the time. And front wheels not locking in when in 4wheel drive.

Same type roaring noise 30mph to 50mph highway not bad. Dealer shop checked it out, said maybe tire noise. The shop had already replaced one wheel bearing assy. I had tires rotated to see if this would help, no. Sounds more like gear noise to me, CV? front Dif? wheel bearing assy?

Do you have stock tires? Or have they been replaced with something aftermarket?

The drivers side rear wheel moves in and out and both rear tires going bald quickly. Had an alignment done problem still exists. Also when going over small groves in the road feels like car is sliding across it.

First i would check the tires , are they cupped or chopped on the tread? run your hand over the tread and see if it feels rough and uneven. take the truck to a auto repair shop and have them jack both front and rear axles off the ground, put the truck in 2 wheel drive and run the speedometer to the speed you usually hear the roaring noise, if you don't hear the noise , put the truck in 4 wheel drive, turn off the traction assist if it has one and run it to the speed you would hear the noise. if you hear the roaring noise with tires off the ground, the problem is in the drivetrain, (engine, transmission, transfer case, u-joints, differentials or the front left or right cv halfshafts or u-joints). the older models (97 98) had the front two driveshafts from the differential turning all the time, they engaged in 4 wheel drive from the transfer case and a solenoid on the front differential. depending on the miles you have on this truck, the most likely areas i would look at would be the tires, u-joints/cv joints, and front and rear wheel bearings. thanks and good luck.

I have a 2004 dodge ram 1500 quad cab with 5.7 hemi. I have a c code 67 which I believe is all door unlock circuit ground fault. Just wondering where the best place to start at to try to find it.

Between the drivers door and the door jam. At the front is a rubber boot. Pull it back And check for broken wires there(where most breaks occur). It's tight, but not impossible.

Most likely U Joints in the front axles. These will only turn in 4 wheel drive.

My 2004 dodge ram 4 by 4 makes a loud bang when I shift into reverse. The truck is a quad cab,5.7l hemi. It has 97000k on it. It only happens when shifting into R. It is an occasional problem.

Sounds like your U-Joints need replacing, or your driveshaft yoke may be worn and loose. you may also have your 4x4 wheel locks partially engaged.

Dodge 1500 front end problem

How about the shocks and possible hugh air pressure in tires? When you push down on front end the body should return without bouncing. Hard tire won't absorb road shock. Give those two a look at.. good luck

Rattleing front end and Airbag on/off

You have two separate problems. The noise in the front is possibly the sway bar bushings, there was a problem with them on the dakota, durango and caravans. The airbag light problem is probably the clockspring. It is behind the steering wheel.
