Earlier Mitsubishi vehicles had a habit of a capacitor in the cars ECU (computer) blowing out and damaging the circuit board when this happens often a burnt smell is reported and the problem can be intermittent. (usually the sensor 5volt supply drops during the problem) engine check light comes on because ignition is on whilt engine is off.

Saturn vue will start but will only stay runnuing about twenty minutes then stalls wont start

Does the car loose power before stalling or does it simply die without warning? If it loses power first, you're likely looking at a fuel pump or fuel system problem. If it just dies, you probably have an ignition problem. Does the check engine light come on before it dies?

Car stops no engine light comes on nothing can be found wrong

When you say "Car Stops" I'm assuming you mean stalls... First and foremost, when you put your key in the ignition and turn the ignition on, but don't start the engine, do any of the dash warning/Indicator lights come on. They should because this is how you test to see that they are working. Your check engine light should be seen at this time, and when you start the car should turn off, should you not have seen it, The light could be burned out.

As for why it stops, I'd need more info, about the car and what exactly happens when it stalls or stops. there are things you can check though, make sure battery cables are tight, because if your losing power to the spark plugs your car will stop or stall. You may even have electrical power to all dash and head lights, but if the connections are poor, not enough power is getting to the spark plugs.

If you've noticed a rough idle lately on the vehicle, it could be clogged fuel filter, I'm not sure if there is a means of timing the vehicle without special equipment, but timing could be off. ( Engine ) there's lots of possible reasons, that could cause this to happen. More info would be better!

Engine chugs and loses power, light comes on, now broke alt belt

  1. Check the ignition switch condition and operation. The electrical contacts in the run position may be worn or damaged. Try restarting the engine with all electrical accessories in the off position. Sometimes turning the key on an off will help in emergency situations, however once the switch has shown signs of failure, it should be replaced as soon as possible.
  2. Check for loose, corroded, damaged or shorted wires for the ignition system and repair or replace.
  3. Check for manifold vacuum leaks or vacuum hose leakage and repair or replace parts as necessary.
  4. Measure the fuel pump delivery volume and pressure. Low fuel pump pressure can also be noticed as a lack of power when accelerating. Make sure the fuel pump lines are not restricted. The fuel pump output is not adjustable and requires fuel pump replacement to repair.
  5. Check the engine fuel and ignition management system. Inspect the sensor wiring and electrical connectors. A dirty, loose or damaged sensor or control module wire can simulate a failed component.
  6. Check the exhaust system for internal restrictions.

Sl2 stalls while driving or when starting.

Wow... if the whole car is doing that i would guess it to be electrical a bad ground...basically a major cable that connects to your frame or directly to the negative side of the battery. You see, electricity leaves its source makes a device operate then the electricity goes back to the source. kinda like a big circle... when you start your car...the battery gets you going...then...the Alternator takes over...recharges the battery while making your car operate on an electrical standpoint. if you break that circle...lights it the wires losing contact. battery failure( usually they STAY dead) or it could be an alternator with an intermittent problem. Based on a money stand point...your battery is fine...i'd replace the alternator...not trusting it after all that. (100- 300 bucks) if it STILL does it..then have a mechanic replace your wiring harness associated with the ignition, starter, alternator and battery( should be just one bundle of wires to fit that portion) .200 to 400 bucks to get that replaced. i hope this helps you out with finding out what the problem is...and i'm sorry to say...getting a fuel filter and fuel pump replacement would not cause a radio to lose power...the battery is like a back up system. don't go back to that mechanic ever he is ripping you off. im an electrician so i know about electricity and i also tinker with cars quite a bit for fun.

Loss of power

If car starts and lose the power afterwards it might be alternator problems or fuel supply (filter, pump, injectrors) or ignition (plugs, wiring/distributor). If lights come on but car is dead it is starter or incorrect timing (brocken timing belt (chain)) or fuses.
Hope that helps
Good Luck

Car will not start

check if your fuel pump works. or if you fuel filter is clean. the engine yellow icon on the warning panel is ON? this will tell you if your pump is developing sufficient fuel to be able to start 30psi.
