How Do you remove the transmission filler cap on 1.5 ltr auto?
I would like to check the transmission fluid in my Daewoo Lanos 1.5 ltr auto, but I`m not sure if the Filler Cap (with breather tube attached) screws out or pulls out! Being plastic, I don`t want to end up with two pieces of filler cap! Looking forward to your expert advice,

start engine and with handbrake on and chock drive wheels put in reverse then check the fluid level ,if no dipstick for autobox then take to a garage who will have a snap on universal type dip stick for most modern cars .
The way to check the transmission fluid is like old vehicles, there is a screw in the low part of the transmission in the driver's side but towards the opposed wheel, you have to work under the car and take off the screw. If leaking fluid is good In not, you have to refill.
The Daewoo Lanos needs 12 quarts of Fluid.
The owner of the car should be able to check the oil fluid and coolant levels .get a clean peace of cloth.tools for removing trans axle /differential filing plugs. so that when the oil or fluid and coolant levels are checked they must be on desired levels.Locate the oil metering rod or dipstick and measure the lubricating oil level. Remove the transmission filler plug and check oil level. Remove differential oil filler plug and check oil level .Check fluid level .check coolant level.Observe all safety rules .Use the correct preventive maintenance procedures. If the owner can't do it then it is suggested that he should go to a car mechanic and the mechanic will do the job.
the daewoo lanos has no dipstick. The owners manual suggests that you take the car to a dealer to have them check it. Im sure they want you to pay them for frivolous things. Hence daewoo is no longer sold in usa. I wonder why
Answer #2 A grey plastic plug with a large screwdriver slot in it located on the top of the transmission box when unscrewed and removed reveals a small dipstick attached to the underside of the plastic plug. This is also where you add any new transmission oil should you drain it or need to top it up.
CHECKING FLUID LEVEL
1. With the vehicle on a level surface and the fluid in the transaxle cold, remove the filler plug and check the fluid level. The fluid should come to the bottom edge of the plug hole.
2. If the level is low, add SAE 80 manual transaxle fluid through the filler plug hole until the fluid begins to run out.
3. Reinstall the filler plug and tighten it securely. The speed gears and the synchronizer parts on this vehicle receive lubrication through specific passages in the mainshaft. It takes 1.8 liters (1.90 quarts) to fill the transaxle completely.
its located next to drive shaft some on left hand side others on right hand side depending what gearbox.
You can usually get these from IMC or TopLine but these places usually only deal with Auto Parts dealers. If you would like, send me an email and I will put you in touch with a place that will order it for you. firstname.lastname@example.org
Be sure that transmission fluid temperature is at least 104° F (40° C). Models with 2.2L engine: To access check/fill plug: In the engine compartment, remove clamp from air hose behind cooling fan. Separate air tube from the hose and push the tube back towards the transaxle. Remove the clip holding the two power steering lines together. All Models: From underneath vehicle remove the transaxle check/fill plug with engine running. Fluid level should be even with hole. Add fluid as needed until fluid flows from hole. Replace check/fill plug and torque to 9 ft. lbs. (12 Nm).
