Question about 1997 Audi A4
Took car to my local garage but he can seem to find any way to adjust the wheel alignment. It has cut the inside edges of all 4 tyres badly,It has however had a set of replica 18"x8" alloys fitted instead of the std 16" alloys. I wondered if this is not helping matters. could you please advise.
Hi it can be done but would thick it will cost you as what you would need to do is get a full car geometry get all the readings see what needs adjusting and get not so much a specialist but a decent mechanic who will spend time on the suspension by shimming or getting special eccentric bolts which will alter your cambers and be prepared to cut tie rods in half and put adjusting bolts in sounds alot of work but once you found the suspension parts neeed on one side of the suspension the otherside is easier or if the 16; wheels didn,t wear put them back and put it down to experiance
