I cant find any options in the menu lists to bond my mobile phone to the above unit or to turn on the bluetooth on this unit, please give me a step by step guide on how to do this please.
The car in question is a 08 plate ford focus 1.6 tdci
Looks like your car (most SE's as well) doesn't have the SYNC feature that enables bluetooth handsfree through the speakers as well as media device connectivity. I have an SE, but specifically made sure that it had SYNC before purchasing. You may be able to find an aftermarket solution such as a GPS unit with bluetooth (Always good to know where you're going anyways) but without spending too much money, you won't be able to run it through your speakers.

Bluetooth is pretty much universal, in that if you have two bluetooth devices and they are paired correctly you should have full connectivity.
If you have not purchased a phone based on the info given by VW, just try and pair a friends phone up to the car, it will do no harm.
