when you pull the head light switch the door covers will not open or the head lights will not come on. i have checked the fuse, switch and the relay.if you pull the dimmer switch the doors open and lights come on as long as you hold the switch.

You have a power drain going on. you have to trace which part is draining your power. the parts that you mentioned would not work if you already have a low battery condition.

have your battery charged and remove all power fuses and one by one, you insert it back and see if you can find the which part is draining the power.

tnx 4 using fixya,

95 chrysler new yorker, car starts for 2 to 3 seconds and stalls, headlights flash off and on and turning signals flash, how do i fix it?

I owned a LHS and 94 New yorker both cars did this, have the door locks checked for a loose wire for the alarm system, something is telling the security system there is a breach, you must lock the doors, shut the door and then open the car door by unlocking it with the key or it will continue to do this. Mine had loose wires and the door lock would not sense the key so I used the passenger door in the same way I described above. IT will NOT Start and run if this is an issue until the alarm is reset by doing as I described. Good luck BTW both cars suffered from failing transmissions, very weak trans in these cars.

1993 Chrysler New Yorker 5th Avenue - I need to clear the computer error codes and I read on here one day where a guy suggested I disconnect the negative cable from my battery and turn on the headlights...

Never heard that. Sounds like he's pulling your chain-when you disconnect the battery(that's how I clear my codes) you can't turn the lights on-no power! And even after you hook the battery back up, turning the lights on or off has no effect whatsoever on the engine computer.Just remember, you'll have to re-set your clock and radio pre-sets after re-connecting the battery.

1993 Chrysler New Yorker 5th Ave. the serpentine belt keeps coming off. 3.8l V6.

Check the tension of the belt. On the longest run it should depress about 3/8" with a 20 lb load applied to it. Or you should be able to twist it 90 deg at the longest run without too much effort.

I have a 93 Chrysler New yorker 5th Ave. The Anti-Theft was activated, and finally reset, but now the car will crank, but only run for about 10 seconds or so and cuts off. I turn the key off start the car...

I had a Dynasty that did the same thing.I had to replace the computer.
The computer activated but was de-activated by 10 key start attempts.
maybe try this as a temporary fix.

Head lamp does not turn on, but bright light does in chrysler

It sounds like its a 'duel filiment' headlight; 2 separate filiments, 1 for highbeams & 1 for lowbeams. (Same as a brake light/directional bulb) Replace the headlight with a new one.
