This has the plugs in center of valve cover right?the valve cover gasket is leaking oil into plug holes. just replace your valve cover gasket

what usually happens is a little oil puddles up and when you take plug out it runs down threads and onto electrode. if your threads were oily then yes same problem. egr valve is on the intake towards rear of engine

  • TripleTauto
    TripleTauto Oct 03, 2008

how much oil? and when you say under the plugs up inside the electrode?

  • TripleTauto
    TripleTauto Oct 03, 2008

with that much oil you would have a lot of smoke and running problems. i would still say it is the cover leaking oil down into holes and when you pull plug out it gets on there. i have seen a lot of imports with this same problem. look down in holes with a flashlight and see if there is oil residue.

with that much oil on plug and it is not using / burning oil it has to be valve cover. does plug look like it is burning clean?

itis not helping. clean your throttle plate with carb cleaner and wipe down also whta is your egr problem?

  • TripleTauto

could be port clogged but could also be a bad egr solenoid. put vvacuum on egr valve engine should bog down and almost cut off if it does this then it is a bad solenoid

  • TripleTauto

no egr runs off of engine vacuum you can actually just get a piece of vacuum hose and put it on valve and **** on hose to open valve if it soesnt open it is bad

THE SPARK PLUG TUBE SEALS DRY OUT AND NEED REPLACING. But if yours has a plastic VC like my 95 200sx 1.6, you have to replace the whole Valve Cover. 1995-1999 Sentra with 1.6 are compatible. I actually used an aluminum '92 sentra VC got tube seals and gasket for it, but you need a little rtv on the rounded part or it will leak oil. No oil in the plugs yet...

How to change oil

First find out what type of oil your car requires. examples are 5W 20 or 5W 30, These are examples of weight usually the manufacture list it on the oil cap. Then determine the type reqular or synthetic. As for brand thats up to you. Then make sure you have the filter. There are some that are screw on canister and some are oil filters.you need to know the part you require. Now for the oil pan there are different drain plug sizes some are starting at 12mm 13mm 14mm ect.. know your size. All in a nut shell you open drain plug let oil drain out. Install the drain plug, then reove oil filter, install new oil filter. Fill the engine in the engine oil fill cover and add (I always use 4 as start) you oil start at 4 quarts. Start the engine idle for a few seconds. check the oil level by using the oil dipstick. add if necessary, and recheck for leaks.

Oil in spark plugs

Oil on a spark plug might be as simple as a bad valve cover gasket. If it is not smoking bad from the exhaust then it may not be that big of a problem. Is there oil just on the threads or is it on the entire tip of the spark plug. check the smoke and let me know from there. Thanks, Midwest-tek

Just bought 2005 chrysler pacifica. need to know where oil plug is.what size wrench for oil plug.wher oil filter is . is there any special thing i need to know.

I recommend VERY Highly that you get the Haynes Repair manual on the vehicle. It will provide Step by step instructions for basic stuff like Oil Changes and Tune Ups and the intervals for these. As for you question. The oil Drain plug is located on teh oil pan at the bottom of the vehicle, The oil Filter is located on the Firewall side of the engine, and other than understanding how to properly install an oil Filter and to use the correct oil there isn't much to it. Oh, the oil drain plug should be a 13 or 14 mm.

I have engine oil under the ignition packs.

IF YOU GETTING OIL AROUND COIL PACK.MORE LIKELY YOUR PVC VALVE CLOGGED. ITS ALLOWING CRANKCASES PRESSURE BUILD UP CAUSING OIL TO BE PUSHED BACK UP IN THE PVC.OR COMPRESSION RINGS WORN TO A EXTENT THAT THE CRANKCASE IS OVER PRESSURIZED. FORCING OIL THROUGH THE PVC VALVE.YOU HAVE A PVC VALVE NEAR THE COIL AREA.THAT COULD BE WHERE OIL IS COMING FROM.

Oil light it is on all the time and it feels like the fuel filter is plugging

If the oil light is on you need to check the dipstick and see if you're low on oil. If you are, fill as necessary. If the oil is at a good level you need to take it to a mechanic and get it reset unless you can find how to reset it online. I don't know what you mean by fuel filter "plugging" though. Good luck and let me know about the "plugging"

My 2002 dodge neon has check engine light with coded p0302. I know to try replacing the plug/wires, are there any other common causes for this error code that I should check out?

Hi! When replacing the plugs and wires on this model be sure there is no oil in spark plug wells. You will notice the oil on the plug wire boot when removing it. If there is any oil on any of the boots the valve cover gasket and spark plug tube seals will need to be replaced or the misfire code you mentioned will return. Hope this information helps!

Can't locate reserve oil drain plug on 1994 Ford E350

It only has 1 oil pan which is call a dual resreve. One oil plug is a the bottom of the pan the other is at the front of the oil pan. Look at the front of the oil pan for the other drain plug. Make sure on how many quarts of oil it takes. ( I know 5.0 take 5 quarts including oil filter. But then again its a van double check)
