My trucks a 98 chev. silverado 3500 6.5 turbo deisel crewcab and i'm having the same problem, only i can drive for about an hour after cranking for the first time that day, before it starts cutting off while driving down the road. It start's back up while in neutral and will keep going until it happens again. My truck has also been tested on the computer and shows nothing wrong with it. It will stay cranked while idling for hours. It's when your actually going down the road or you make a turn and press the pedal to pick up speed. Please someone tell me what could be my problem. I'm tired of taking it to mechanic's that says nothing is wrong. I have 3 small foster children and i can't afford to be stranded on the side of the road.. Thanks

I am an apprentice and could not guarantee this is your solution but i have seen this problem more then once and all three times it has resulted in replacing the injector pump! this is very costly but a known problem for the 6.5L.The first thing i would do is pick up a good quality fuel filter. Replacing it is very easy and will never hurt! Just remove the grey cover that says 6.5L on the top of the engine, there will be a housing (that looks not much bigger then the new filter you picked up) using filter pliers (or by hand if not to tight) remove the threaded retainer ring and housing cover. Inside you will see fuel (diesel) and the filter. Simply remove the old one and replace with the new one. Ensure no dirt or debris gets inside, clean the cover and put it all back together! This is a great place to start because it is very inexpensive and easy to do!

Bad brakes on gmc suburban, replaced master cylinder, rear wheel cylinder and abs control module, bled system, still have spongy brakes and ABS come on right before it gets stopped.

Gravity bleed your brakes starting at the wheel farthest from the master cylinder. No pweddle pumping. I Fill M/C and leave cover off. Then open the bleeder and watch what is coming out. Uou can see bubbles. When the fluid drips steady and without bubbles, cole and do the same to the other three. Don't let the master cykinder get low because thr fluid level helps move the fluid and air through the lines.Periodically tap the break lone with your wrench to keep everything moving.. When sll bleeders drip clean and steady. Make sore your rear brakes are adjusted to barely touch the drum. Then top off the master cylinder, cap it and give yourself a "break". :)

Anti-lock brakes come on just before I stop.

It might be a ALB sensor. Did you check to see if the sensor is operational? Its the cheapest place to check.

95 Suburban K2500 front brake rotor replacement

On the heavy-duty models like this one (and mine) the rotors are indeed pressed on. The whole assembly comes off via four bolts on the inside of the assembly. Look in a Chilton's or Hayne's at your local auto parts store to see it with pictures.

Do not just hammer away as the previous ignoramus suggested. They'll never come off and you'll just end up breaking something.
