Gas peddle sticking - 2002 Pontiac Montana

Find the gas and brake peddle. Follow up from the bottom of the brake peddle, Look at the back side. The brake peddle bracket depresses a switch( brake lamp switch). it is very simple to remove. As usual with all work...disconnect the negative battery cable. unplug the brake switch. remove the retaining nut (if it has one) and unscrew the switch from the bracket behind the brake peddle bracket. Take note how far it is sticking out for the reinstallation. Replacing it is just as easy

spray wd40 on the throtle cable if u have cruse controll spray that cable to

IGNITION TIMING OFF.LEAN FUEL MIXTURE CAUSED BY CLOGGED FUEL FILTER.VALVES STICKING CAUSE ENGINE BACK FIRE.

the oil issue could be thatyour engine is burning it, a sign of a weakening engine! Don't know what to tell you about the gas pedal!

it may be on the bell housing right about where the gas peddle is it plugs in from the top and is a real treat to get to. i usede a broom stick with some mig welding wire as a noose to pull it out ..

have you replace the fue filter? a sticking iac sensor can also cause problems starting also check the air flow sensor

Clean the Throttle body intake. This is a known problem with our trucks. If you don't know what this is just google it. The butterfly valves will hang up on the black deposits and make the pedal stick at the top end. Super easy fix give it a shot. All you should need is some carb cleaner and scotchbrite pad. Cheers!

Remove the cable from the engine side and feel if it is free , if not lube .Check your engine earth cable is tightened and fitted properly , the engine could be earthing on this cable causing it to sieze.

transmission fluid do you have a reading on the dip stick level??
