Oil leak on 2007 chevy impala

Only a trusted local auto service shop or dealer can answer this for you because your vehicle would have to be up on a lift to actually see what's leaking in order to properly diagnose and repair. It may be as simple as changing the oil pan gasket or a cracked oil pan that would have to be either replaced or repaired depending on the size of the crack. There is also the remote chance that its actually something else that's leaking. Hope this helps.

How do i change the oil in a 2006 chevy cobalt ?

Put car on ramps. On the lowest point of bottom of the motor, you will see a bolt. . Place drain pan under the bolt, and turn bolt all the way out. Drain all the oil out and re measure what you're putting back in. Place 3 and one half liters back in as the filter holds almost a half a liter. Try not to run the car as you may hurt valve seals air filters etc.Good luck let me know how you make out. Please rate this solution Cheers from Nova Scotia!!

How do you take off the oil pan on a 2007 chevy cobalt? I have removed all the bolts that secure the oil pan, but it will not come off.

There is a gasket between the engine and the oil pan. It is probably stuck. You will have to pry it loose with a screwdriver. It may damage the gasket so you might have to get a new one. Make sure you scrape off the old gasket before installing the new one.

My local tire store put semi deep scratches in each spoke (5) and on the lip of the rim (360d)of my factory alloy wheels. i'm worried about structural integrity. should i be ?

Nope, the factory rims are more durable then the after market rims. that is why you can have factory rims repaired and refinished a to the after market rims you can't. If you do a search around your area for rim repair, the average price is $100.00 per rim and see if the tire repair shop would fit the bill for the repair or may be half the price. When replacing the the tire from any aluminum rims, there suppose to use the proper tire removal tool for aluminum rims. The machine has a nylon end so it wouldn't scratch or damage the rim in any way if done right by a trained technician. The finish on my Cobalt SS rims are still blemish free from tire changes from the place i go since tires are all they do.

Thank you for using Fixy and i would have the tire shop fit the bill. That's what shop insurance are for.

2008 cobalt has recently developed shimmy in front end at low speed..<45mph is problem alignment or something more serious??also, road noise which has always been somewhat loud has definitely increased.

Your cobalt should still be under warranty, so you should bring it back to the dealer. If you have done massive driving and your out of warranty, then il'd have to say that you may have a wheel bearing hub gone bad and needs to be replaced. Check the tire pressure first, tire condition and look for any signs if tire damage like tire belt separation. Tire belt separation is when the steel belt in the tires that keep the tire it's shape has broke and there is a flat spot causing the wheel shimmy. If your not sure, rotate the wheel by placing the front wheels to the rear and the rear to the front, making sure the tires are properly inflated to the recommended PSI. Good luck and start with checking the tire first.
