Obviously, you are not a professional ... neither am I. I would do exactly what I am suggesting BEFORE I tried a procedure like this.
wow ok i am from australia our lancers only come in a 2.0 or 2.4 i was shocked to see a 1.3 lancer now with the key every time you incert the key into the ignition it reads the key as there is a chip in the orignal keys so thatway the immobiliser knows thatit is safe for the car to start if the cra can not read the key it will not let the car start evan if it is twisting to start etc you need to go to mitsubishi and have them copy some new keys and let them reset the codes on the immobiliser if you try to do so your self it may trigger a cold shut down this is when the immobiliser its self needs to be replaces as well as the keys hopes this helps ricko
You did not state the age or better yet the mileage on the car. The Lancer is a very good vehicle and 200,000 miles without even touching the engine is the norm. If you're doing over 150, 000 miles i would recommend the 5w50

On my Bitsasushi Lancer CE 2000 i found a Hairline crack on Vinyl PCP about 6 o'clock when viewing Cluster right way up at rear where Vinyl circuit folds over under plastic Tabs, looks like power supply to Warning Lights, i just Spent 5 mins scraping Blue Vinyl to reveal Crack a Dab of Solder a Dollop of clear Laquer(Naily-Polish) inserted Cluster
wel if it is a manual transmission..it sounds like your clutch plate is worped..or your throw out bearing is bad in that spot where 2 shifts out to third..theirs little pins in a gear that release and lock when it goes in to a gear..call the main company..repaire shop they will give you advice what it could b..
