Chances are the dealer isnt going to fix the problem without you paying out of pocket. Check and make sure that you have a warranty or not before you do. Or you could also check and see if there are any recalls for your particular vehicle, ( make model and all that ) Sometimes vehicle owners are unaware that their vehicle has a recall on something and continue to drive their vehicle without knowing that their vehicle has a recall. Look into these different options and see what comes up. I hope this helped you.

MECH message means a "mechanical communication error", when display on your car cd player indicates that there is a problem with cd player that has do with the mechanism which is jammed up.

You need to open up the player and clean out the dust inside.

Good luck.

Hi, I bought a 2007 Honda Ridgeline The radio

you can call honda if it is the factory radio.. if you give them the vin number they should be able to help you... once you receive it you should keep it saved somewhere because every time you disconnect the battery it will reset again... sometimes you can find the code in the owners manual or sometimes you get a little card with the code on it... good luck

Mech Comm Error

sounds like they may have forgotten to take out transit plugs from radio which holds cd mechanism in place when shipping unless you got a new radio thats a dud? but that may also mean dealer didnt check operation of new unit after replacement if replaced which is what usually needs to be done when this error message comes up
