I suggest re-check to read and note your fault codes acdording with this read codes procedure, with out starting the engine: turn the ignition key ON, OFF, ON, OFF, and finally ON.

The check engine light on the dash will begin to flash. The light will flash the first number of the first digit pause and flash the number of the second digit. Example: five flashes, pause, three flashes = Code 53 PCM failure or Code 54 no cam shaft position sensor signal from distributor etc, etc.

Try this and send us this fault code to send you additional detaild.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using Fixya, and have a nice day.

How do I retrive the fault codes on my 14 jeep grand cherokee 3.6 v-6 , using the engine warning light.

you need a code reader plugged into the port, often under the dash, some shops will read the code for free or charge a small amount to be credited toward repair, You can buy a reader from about $75 and up at an auto parts store or onine, you may need computer access depending on device

I have a ODB II code reader giving p1763, p1762, p0303

Your right about the two codes. It's really a transmission part.
As soon as you open up the transmission pan, it right there.
f0d99d5.jpg But, I would leave this up to a transmission place. It may need a special type of calibration tool for the new sensor.

As for PO303, that is a missfire in cylinder #3

I hope I answered your question.

How can you chek codes on you own ithout a computer

To check the codes on a 1995 you need an ODB code reader, then you connect the code reader to the ECM (computer module) that is located under the hood.

1999 jeep grand cherokee 6cyl.check engine light stays on.

Extracting Fault Codes:
Turn the ignition switch ON, OFF, ON, OFF, ON and observe the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. The CHECK ENGINE LIGHT should begin to flash a series of codes. The flashes will be separated by short an long pauses. The long pauses separate the "ones" and "tens" positions, and each code from the next. A code 55 will be displayed at the end of the test.

Read the Fault Codes:
Here you can find the ODB Codes

Good luck!!!
