My 2002 Ford Explorer XLT was running fine all year. I went out on monday to start her up and she started then stalled out and I have not got her to start since.

Last year same time i had same problem. I replaced the fuel filter and after some time of getting a jump it started and ran up till now. what do you think?

Replaced the Fuel filter just an hour ago.
Plenty of fuel was in the filter. might be bad fuel cause I still can not get it started not even a hint of wanting to start.
Checked fuses on ingition and fuel. Also change pugs.
Do you have any other thoughts?
    P0171 & P0174 are these sensors?

My 1999 Ford Explorer XLT has started stalling while driving down the road. Sometimes it will start right back up and run fine, other times it will run for a minute or two and then stall again. Sometimes...

couple of things,if you a autozone ,pepboys or another automotive store around they can diagnose it for free,or you may want to check your idle air control valve aslo known as iacv its on your intake manifold close to your carb it could be clogged up with carbon from burned fuel build up.good luck

Battery light flashing

The battery light on, is an indication of alternator failure. If your battery is more than 3 years old it needs replacement . A bad battery can damage a new alternator (full field condition). The age of your truck warrants inspection of the charging system. It requires at Least 20 amps output, from the alternator to run the engine.

My Ford Explorer 2000 XLT. The 4X4 High & Low lights have started flashing on & off at the same time. I have not tried to put it into 4WD mode at this stage. What might be causing this?

I had the same problem on my 04 explorer 4.0 automatic it is a 5r55w trans, anyway when you take it to the trans shop they are going to tell you it needs a solenoid pack, that is licated under the valve body. I had it replaced and that fixed the problem. but abt a year later the trans went out completely, note if you continue to drive the vehicle you will mess up the trans, you need this solenoid pack replaced soon, as it allows fluid to travel to the parts of the trans, at certain pressures and temps. the work cost me $600 at Jerrods trans shop in Denver.

1996 Ford Explorer XLT V6 - will start but stalls after 5 mins.

This can be cause by many things, such as a fuel pump going bad / or is bad, fuel injectors need cleaned / replaced, fuel filter dirty just to name a few. Could also have a vapor lock where the fuel line is running to close to a heat source like the manifold or engine and the heat creates a vacum in the fuel line stopping the flow of fuel. Best bet have a garage repair shop look at it. To many hit and miss causes.

My 2002 Ford Explorer XLT won't start. I will

This looks like typical Ford Issue of clogged Fuel filter or computer controlling the sparks on your spark plugs also
directs the timing so it could also be a sensor that works
with the timing of the Sparks. This assumes that you have enough fuel and good spark plugs.

2002 Ford Exlorer XLT

That year Explorer was notorius for rear ABS sensors going bad. If your ABS light is on as well this may be your problem. Also they were notorious for 4WD modules going bad. This problem is more expensive. I would advise you to have it checked on a computer to see what codes you have.
