01 f150 4.2 will turn over but wont start

Check Inertia sensor. This cuts off power to fuelpump. It has a reset button and is usually behind the front floor kickpanels.

No light in the instrument panel

You may simply just have to replace the cluster light. First though check to see if it is a popped fuse. Please let me know if I helped you by ranking me. Jeff from fixya

Just went out to start car and will not start. happens every couple of weeks. Just put a new fuel filter and electric fuel pump on it. It is be the rank censor??

I'm not certain what you are referring to as a rank sensor. If the car did start and run after the replcaement of the fuel filter and fuel pump, my first suspicion would be the Electronic Crank Position Sensor. I own the same vehicle and experienced the same problem. If you have minimal mechanical aptitude, it is very simple to replace. I bought the sensor at an O'Reilly's Auto Parts Store for around 75.00 (With A Lifetime Guarantee) and repaced it in approx. 10 minutes and my car is performing better than I can remember. It is located approx. 4-6 inches below the last spark lug on the right; viewing front to rear. It is connected with a plug to the wiring harness and a 10mm bolt to the block.

Battery turns over strong c ranks good cold but won't start hot

I promise that this problem is your crankshaft position sensor, replace it. I've seen this problem many many times, it's very common. It's a pain to change at home because of it's location, but pretty easy for a shop. We charge about an hour to do it, the sensor is about 65 bucks.

Fuel and starting

if the pump is known to be good, check the fuel filter. the fuel filter may have never been changed and this may very well be the reason why the pump went out in the first place. hope this helps... visit again and rank this answer if I helped thanks!

Overheating in 2005 Silverado

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Appreciate the direct "Ask me".

To your overheating concern, a few ides you could consider/explore:
  • radiator fan/fan motor. Some models uses a silica oil clutch while others require that the A/C or heater be turned on otherwise the radiator fan will not engage;
  • clogged radiator;
  • too little antifreeze, too much water in the coolant mix;
  • too soft radiator hoses;
  • the thermostat was installed in reverse or out of position.
Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.

Pls be informed that due to my current rank and rating, even a Helpful would be detrimental to my status. Should this solution not address your concern, it would be appreciated if you could just not rate it at all. Cheers.
