This sounds like the rear 02 sensor is not reading. also toyota has an air-fuel ratio sensor and not a 02 sensor they are diffrent. good luck jimmy

1996 cherekee 4lt cold starting idles good warms up idles rough. exhaust fums stink. fueling up spark plugs .speedo289000klm'can any one help

is the problem only on a cold engine, hot or both?
is the hot engine reaching and holding 180F or more as it must?>
its running rich
and that is misfire.
lots of causes for rich. the tests are easy in shop with tools.
  1. a full tuneup.
  2. fuel pressure to high we, use a gauge. (FPR bad?)
  3. leaking injectors.
  4. ECT failure, scan it and must read 180f, hot, if at 180f hot.?
  5. this takes 5 min work on any scan tool (real)
  6. map hose clogged. or leaking. the Map sensor must not be blocked in any way to the plenum vacuum. or it will lie and it will run real bad.
  7. on a hot engine, the 02 sensors can fail, or is good and the exhaust cracks in the header do that. on mine it did 3 times.
cracks in the exh header, there must not he any leaks in that header (or bad gaskets)
or the 02 lies. , goes to 0volts and then engine runs rich as a piggy. (my scan tool shows this is seconds, 02 flat-lined at 0v.
all cars, with 02 do that. with that issue.
02 means oxygen sensor, the front one, not the rear one.

2009 pontiac g8 3.6L. If i put new headers and pipes is there a way to delete 02 sensors or bypass? Or are the 02 sensors a must? Do they make connectors for 02 sensors to falsify there existence?

The O2 sensors are a vital component for any fuel injected engine. If there are headers available for the engine they should already have the bung for the O2 sensor to ***** into. There is no falsifying the signal as the constantly fluctuating readings from the O2 sensors is what the computer uses to adjust the air to fuel ratio for the engine to run properly.

You will need to have a bung welded into the header so you can hook it back up.

Check engine light code PO135, 02 heater circuit, bank1, sensor 1 for 2000 plymouth breeze

It is telling you that the oxygen sensor has failed. Replace the sensor, it is located in the exhaust pipe between the engine and the catalytic converter. The part runs around 40 dollars. It is fairly easy to spot, if you do not recognize it, purchase the replacement and look for the same critter on the exhaust.
I recommend getting the OEM sensor to save grief during install.
Hope this helps.

How to take out a 02 sensor on the first one off the motor

There are two sets of 02 sensors on most cars today. On set is set directly behind the header, one on each side, if it is a V engine. This set is used for the engine's ECU to control timing as well as other variables. The other set is placed on a bung in your Catalytic converter. This 02 sensor is used for emissions purposes only. located in the exhaust pipe. One in front of the catalytic converter, and one behind the converter, Unplug the sensor and use a 7/8 wrench or O2 sensor socket to remove the sensor

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON. WAS TOLD IT WAS THE 02 SENSOR/VALVE. WHERE DO I FIND THIS? GMC SIERRA 1500

You should have 5, O2 sensors on your Sirera. What are the DTC codes, each codes will indicate which O2 sensor needs to be addressed, or is this an answer with someone guess what the check engine light is saying.
Thye check engine light could be from a bad O2 sensor to just a bad or loose gas cap to a transmission issues.
Thank you for using fixya and note that Auto Zone and most larger auto parts store will scan DTC codes free of charge.

Check engine light is on

If that happens, like mine has been on for the last 3 years, it usually means there is a hole in the exhaust pipe somewhere and it is not serious. The only repair would be to replace the entire exhaust system and headers which would be $1000's of dollars. I hope that helps
