Question about 1993 Saturn SL2

Runnin hot I just replaced the fan switch and fan module in my 1994 saturn and it still gets hot, I called the mechanic and he said said I have to drive the car at least 40 miles for it to adjust , is this true?

    Is it true that the module has to adjust before the car cools normally again?

    sorry he replaced the fan switch and the coolant temp. sersor so i just started the car and ran it for 10 min and it went to the 4th notch out of five notchs on the little temp gag on the dash, till the fan turned on that is not normal is it. He said to drive it tomaarow to work so it could adjust , is this bull-**** or should i drive it, I have my 2001 honda civic that is my daily driver this is just my back up car sohould i leave take it back 2- marrow and expalin this to him,cuz I do have a-little knowledge about cars

    That is what I thought ,I'll drive my other car 2 -marrow. Last thing I need is to blow the engine on that car at 5 am on the 101 freeway, so when I go back to the shop 2-marrow do i race hell with them? By the way THANK YOU SO MUCH for your help, they also replaced the top rad. hose on it, I just thought I could trust these guys cuz they worked on my honda and fixed it so I thought I had a trustin mechanic I just dont know anymore. Do I go back?

    thats new to me temps are the same and the computer wants about 190- 220 degree's. the computer turns on the relay to the fan. there is no module in this car only a relay.

    it could be a number of things. air pocket, thermostat, cloged radiator,waterpump. a bad ground could cause a wrong reading. it shoudnt get that hot.

Have a 2004 saturn L300, having problems with cooling system, had the thermostat changed, wich cost me a fortune, now the dealer's mechanic thinks i have to change the cooling module, since i'


not clear on a cooling module...there are relays which operate the cooling fans is this what you mean? there is atemp sensor that has wires connected to it mounted in the block that will tell the fans to come on to cool the car..if this sensor is bad the system will not function properly hence with the fans if they dont come on the car wont cool down either..need each one checked and replace whats broken..good luck..

Saturn l200 running hot engine fan working ac blowing hot too where is the ac engine fan i know there are 2 fans but not sure where


there is a fan on each side of the cooling module the fan will not come on if the freon is low that model had a problem with the pipe that goes into the compressor the bolt gets loose and also the pipe breaks

You are correct in that the AC cooling fan is controlled by the ECM, the problem is the sensor on the "Hot" side of the motor, which should be either right ON the thermostat or very near it. Change this, it should take care of issue.

Fan only works on 1994 Saturn when SF on. I have replaced water pump, thermastate, and temp sensor


did you replace the fan switch?
the coolant temp sensor does not control the fan

My 94 Saturn temperature goes to the hot zone 15 mins after start


best to find out why the check engine light came on first could be you need to find out how that fan runs factory and check every thing out. could have a clogged radiator or a bad t-stat

no the module control the fan speed . the module is a relay box that controls the relays for high amps mybe the temp senser not seened the signel
