Question about 2005 GMC Yukon Denali

2004 GMC Yukon Denali

I just replaced my battery and when I started it, my a/c stopped working properly. It blows hot air when it's supposed to be cold and switches sides. In other words, it can be blowing cold on the right side and hot on the left, even with the thermostat is turned down on both to 60. Then when I re-start the car, it will swith sides and blow cold on left and hot on right. It's seems to be some kind of electrical problem with the temperature control. Any ideas?

I just changed the battery on my Yukon XL 2004 and the a/c system started to blow very hot air. The technician removed the battery terminal and put it back after a while then there was no air while the blower is running. He disconnected the battery again and waited for some time and re-connected the battery terminal, now the cold air is coming at the driver side but the passenger side is still blowing hot air. The rear a/c is working fine. Do not know what is the reason and how it will be rectified. So far have to listen music from wife as her side is blowing very hot air.

I understand it the vehicle computer that needs some sort of re-set. Hope we find a quick solution.

My wife had same problem in 2005 yukon. Turn both temperture controls on dash all the way as warm as they will go, Wait about 1 or 2 mins and turn back to coolest setting. Cleared our problem right up. Do this with car running and air on.

I removed the battery terminal and waited for couple of minutes and put it back. But didi not start the car for half an hour. After that it is OK. Although I could not understand the reason but it worked fine..

Rear heating problem

Hi Jeff. I had the same problem, along with others on my 03 Denali. Along with not blowing hot air from the rear heating system, I had hot air blowing out of the passenger side and cold air out of the drivers' side vents. My battery would go low and had the same smell. I took my Denali in to the dealer and they found it was a bad Fan Control Module. They replace it and everything worked well after. It cost me $293 for parts and labor. Hope this helps.

Changed batteries and climate control not working properly

The actuator has gone bad. They can be programed, and reset, but usaly they are bad, and that will only patch the problem for a while.
