I had an ra65 celica.... fuel pump shat its self and bad news its located in the tank im sure i dropped the tank down to get to it but pull up the carpet in the back n check 4 an inspection plate... take a fuel line off the engine put some rag over it n get some one to turn the ignition on n with a working fuel pump you should have fuel **** out if not your pump is faulty or your wiring is corroded or damaged.. also check fuse..good luck

I have a 1999 GMC jimmy 4 door 4x4 v6 4.3 ltr automatic with a starting problem, it starts with starting fluid and runs great afterwards can drive all over God's creation afterwards, but day a

Sounds like you are loosing fuel pressure overnight. Since it takes 70+ psi to start and run, if you have zero pressure in the morning, it would take a long time of cranking to get the pressure back up.
If it is low or no pressure, the problem could be a faulty check valve in the fuel pump.

Would a faulty electric fuel pump relay be the reason there is no power going down to the fuel pump in a 2002 suzuki grand vitara 2.0 rhz diesel engine

To test fuel flow, have a 2nd person stand over air filter (air filter housing open) with a can of starting fluid in one hand. Don't give any throttle, then 2nd person gives 1-second squirt into air filter while you're turning starter motor (no throttle). When engine catches, immediately give one third to one half throttle. Just before it dies, 2nd person should give another short squirt of starting fluid to keep engine from dying. If throttle won't keep engine running and only starting fluid keeps it running, then yes, no fuel is going through fuel lines. Either its a fuel pump issue or maybe there's restriction because of clogged dirty fuel filter. If it starts but runs rough and has black exhaust smoke, then its clogged or dirty fuel injectors.

Turns over and over can hear fuel pump come on will start with starting fluid and runs great but when shut off for a little while wont start again only with starting fluid

If the starting fluid works then you have a fuel pump or a fuel pump relay issue. The fuel pump relay allows the pump to come on for about 2 secs and prime the fuel system. Once the engine starts then the power to the fuel pump runs through the oil pressure circuit.
If the car starts on starting fluid and then continues to run... I would lean toward a fuel pump relay issue. Hope this helps, Good Luck!

The truck won't stay running, it gets fuel and will start with starting fluid but won't stay running. I guess it could be a vacuum problem but it was running fine before this, I just can't figure it out.

Yes it can be vacuum problem. But also the other possibility is low fuel pressure.Get the fuel pressure first checked. If its low then its faulty fuel pump and clogged fuel filter causing this problem. Also the other possibility if the fuel pressure checked ok then its weak fuel pump relay causing this problem. You may have a problem with the contacts in the ignition switch (not key part), when you crank the engine a signal is sent to the fuel pump to run, when it starts and you let off the key another set of contacts keeps the pump getting power Through a relay). This will help out. Thanks.Helpmech.

Car runs fine for 15 miles or so. if i get into the gas after that it just coasts or hesitates. if I feather the gas it runs fine

The fuel system is borderline--fuel pump worn, plugged fuel filter, fuel tank not venting properly. Listen at the tank while someone turns on the key (no start attempt)--you should hear the pump run for a moment or two, then shut off. If it keeps running, the pump is likely worn out. Replace the fuel filter in any case. Pop the fuel cap loose after it starts to run poorly--does that give it another 15 miles? the tank vents through the charcoal canister--not the open air.

Fuel pump wont work 1990 mercury sable station wagon car turns over but wont start it stalled and wouldnt start again but a few hours later it started briefly and i made it about 500 yards and it died and...

fuel pump bad or fuel pump relay bad. Likely fuel pump.

Spray some starting fluid in air intake and see if it starts. If yes, replace fuel pump in fuel tank. drop tank for access. About a $250 repair at shop. call around.
