Question about 1988 Daihatsu Charade
I was driving down te road, and without any warnig the car died. i spoke to a few mechanics that i knew, and they suspected a timing belt problem. i sent the car out to have a timing belt put on.2days later .the mechanic called and told me that he had installed a new belt but the car was still doing the same thing as itdid when i sent the car in. i also put new plugs wires rotor cap on befoe i sent the car to the garage. what can the problem be now. it's a great little car otherwise
It's probably just the points.
Timing belt won't cause a problem unless:
1.) it's cogged a tooth and that is very unlikely
2) the belt snapped and then you would have bent valves and a world of financial pain.
Your mechanics have had a lend of you.
