1995 Camaro ignition switch or starter problem

Car quit running and won't start back up. Motor won't roll over, dummy lights won't come on, but the headlights will come on when you flip the switch for them. What could it be??? Starter??? Ignition Switch??? Any suggestions???

There is a computer chip on your ignition key that reads as you start it. Push the button on your ignition switch and it will come apart and you will find two little wires with a conector without them conected your secerity light will flash and will not start I lost my chip and hope someone can tell me how I can bypass it.

Hey, this happend to me this week, and for me its the ignition switch,
you can temperaly bypass it by putting a toggle switch from a 12V to the tiny pink wire comming from the stearing column,
when u turn the togle on, its as if ur key is in the "On" position, now just turn ur key to start it,
give that a try

Remove steering wheel.under the turn signal switch assembly is the tumbler that the key turns.you will probably see a white broken wire on that tumbler.bad bit of engineering I would say .then fix the wires or buy new parts

Well check your ignition fuse... that tends to be my problem. push the connectors for the fuse tighter in the box, the replace the fuse. voila, recreated and eliminated.

Ignition switch is locked up does this from time to time. Most times you can giggle the steering wheel and it will free it up. Now I cant get it to do anything

Its your ignition switch on the steering column. you have to get it from the dealership. $54.00 you need your last eight vin numbers to get it.

How can I jump the starter on my 91 camaro?

hot wire starter you can short out ignition switch and wiring. to jump starter ignition switch start postion.you have to run 10 gauge jumper wire from the starter solenoid positive battery terminal to starter switch or S terminal on starter solenoid this procedure take two people but better remove starter replace starter solenoid. trying jumping off starter on camaro would be dangerous you have jack up car to get to starter and wiring person laying under car hot wiring starter while other person hold ignition start position put person under car in deadly position just remove starter have auto parts check it out first replace starter or solenoid if either bad. easier hot wire starter if starter under hood like my 1977 vega monza had starter at top could take long screw driver jump starter off.on the four cylinders engines back in the 70s. camaro starter under car dangerous trying to hot wire not a good idea.

Engine won't crank over,it's a five speed when pushed starts right up and runs good.when turned off will not start when you turn the key nothing, not a sound at all..

check to make sure the clutch pedal switch is functioning and that the floor mat isn't blocking the clutch pedal from hitting the switch, basically its either the clutch pedal switch or something between the ignition switch to the starter but i'd try the clutch pedal switch first, its the easiest to check

Car trys to start but quits a second after

It could be anything. Any way you could give me more details. The more, the better. A couple of ideas are the ignition switch or maybe the oil sending unit. I dont know if it eventually start, engine light on while its running, started coming on before starting issue, vehicle maintenance history. Let me know.
