Hi, I've had the same problem with both the drivers and passengers side windows. I'm clueless when it comes to cars but when I've had a look to get the windows back up the wires have rusted and got tangled up in the spool thing. When I've removed the wires the motor works fine, it just needs new wires, i've ordered the repair kit for one to have a go, it looks reasonably easy. If I can't do it i'll order the whole regulator, Second hand ones are about £30/40 each and look easy to fit. I've had a quote of £150 from a local garage to fix just one so either way I'm better off having a go at it myself!!

Depends upon what type of window you have. The manual window regulator is fairly simple to fix. it wont take you more than 30 minutes to tak the panel off and put it on if you know what you're doing. The automatic will be a bit trickier. And yes, it happens often to first generation accents.
Next time it happens, search a local junkyard. i pulled mine off of a rear ended accent, and it only costed 15 dollars.

Power window fell down, won't roll back up

I just had that happen on a 2000.
It was the window regulator.
I ordered a new one on e-bay.
Changing it involves taking the whole door apart, and you can do it yourself, if you are really "mechanical".
You would need to pay particular attention to where every nut & bolt goes, and replace exactly.
The window regulator is made of several metal pieces and some connecting wires or cables.
It is complicated if you are not familiar with it.
You will be needing to take the glass out of the door by rotating it, so you can install the new regulator.
Be blessed.

I have a 2007 Honda Accord and the drivers side window stopped working although I can still hear the mechanic for the window when you try to roll it down (electric). I believe the arm fell off and I may...

Its a very easy fix, you will have no problem doing it yourself. The window most likely simply came out of its track and therefore cannot be engaged properly. Uness there was some damage to the vehichle, I doubt that anything is actually broken.

The fix does involve removing some interior trim pieces and then adjusting the glass back on track. I have included a detailed set of diagrams and instructions which explain exactly how to fix it.

It is a 45-60 minute job tops assuming you are new to this type of maintenance.blackjakjunk_6.jpgblackjakjunk_5.jpgblackjakjunk_4.jpgblackjakjunk_3.jpgblackjakjunk_2.jpgblackjakjunk_1.jpgblackjakjunk_0.jpgblackjakjunk.jpg

While my driver's side window (2004 Honda Civic) was rolled down at a drivethru, I heard it fall and now it won't roll back up. I can hear the motor trying to roll it up when I press the button, so I know...

Hi,
Seems some supports / clips of glass was falling down make your window unable goes upward. It is not to hard to fix it and these can be purchase auto part store ( I guess you don't need to buy new ones but just re install existing ones). If you are confident enough just go through with your plan and have it fixed yourself.

I have a 1997 bmw 528i and the back windows are not working. I can hear the motor but the windows do not go down. How do I access the windows to see where the problem may lie?

remove the handles and door panels you will find the track strip the raises the glass up and down to be broken or stripped ! that can be replaced from a salvage or order one new!

Fix power window on 2002 passat

that sound is the wire that roles up your window it is the window regulator. not a real hard job but might want to go to a shop. if not you will need to pull the door panel off the door latch itself to get to its really not that easy.if interested i can walk you thru it you will need to get a window clip repair kit for the drivers side get that from dealership. you will have to remove the window regulator make sure the window is held up in the track when you pull out the regulator. remove the regulator the you will need a torx 30 bit to remove the motor once you remove that instal the new cable this is where it get fun. get the wires ran to the four points on the regulator. then pull on the clips to lock the cable in there grooves then put back together and lock the window back into the clips thats it any questions just respond will try to help.

Passanger window just fell down when i shut the

I would bank on the cheap piece of plastic the steel cable is attached to inside the door broke. It has happened to every window in my Jeep. You will have to buy the whole kit, from AutoZone or the like, about $250. It is not an easy fix, but doable, if you are mechanically inclined, there are only about 10 screws, after you get the door panel off, thats the trickiest part. I have done it enough to mine it takes me about 45 minutes total. Dealership wanted $700 to do it. For the savings, you can even afford to have a few problems. Good luck.

1994 Toyota 4Runner, Rear window goes down on one side but not the other and then won't go back up. The key and the console button both work but I heard some sort of metal component inside the tailgate...

Sounds like something just fell apart inside. Probably just a roller or something. If you can't do it yourself, it shouldn't cost too much. Just make sure you stand there and watch, so you don't get ripped off. In fact, if you take the cover off the inside of the tailgate, maybe you can fix it yourself.

2004 Toyota Camry Power Window Back Passenger Door

This is a common issue when the windows are frozen.
What probably happened is the metal part of the regulator that is fastened to the bottom of the glass has seperated from the glass. Ask him to get back to me when he pulls the inner door panel off to inspect it for more help. Thanks.
