2006 Mazda 6 stalling

My 2006 Mazda 6 started to stall unpredictably. Stalled 3 times within 10 minutes of driving, then fine for 25 minutes. Later in day, after driving 5 minutes, stalled then was fine since then. Not sure if it is related but it sometimes "jumps" when on a highway and they told me it is because it down shifts in order to get enough pick up when you are increasing speed on a highway. It is still nerve wracking when it happens.

SOURCE: mazda keep stalling

Have you checked air and fuel filters? If dirty or never changed (fuel) - replace them.

SOURCE: Mazda 6 gt 2005 will not start after stalling

Have the car exorcised at once!

Seriously, it sounds to me like you've managed to dislodge something while doing your audio work - or even inadvertently left behind a small tool; there, it could roll onto components and short across several components/gauges. I think you should carefully retrace your work and make sure nothing was dislodged or left behind!

Good luck; let me know how you get on!

SOURCE: Is there a diagnostic code "reader" on the Mazda MPV 1993?

I am having a similar problem and my mechanic thinks it's a fuel regulator. Part was ordered and it's being replaced this week. We'll see. Unrelated, I'm/we're having a heck of a time finding an oil pan...mine is very blistered....but it is 17 years old.

Hi Greg, I'm AL the owner of Big As Auto Repair in St Charles Mo

Greg, I read your complete message, but nowhere did I see that you replaced the Cam Sensor. The EGR will cause it to stall at stops but usually will not prevent it from restarting. I would try replacing the Cam Sensor before anything else. If you should need further assistance go to my website by clicking here: Auto Repair

You say he removed the fuel pump fuse? Do you mean he changed the fuse? The fuel pump can't work without the fuse. Perhaps the fuse is blowing and causing the engine to stall and not restart. Find the fuel pump relay and swap it with another relay of the same type. Make sure the fuel pump fuse is good. If the engine starts, drive it around close to home until you think it's had time to stall out again. If it down'nt stall this time then the relay is bad and needs to be replaced.

Car stalling out and bot starting after being driven for awhile.

mcdevito75 Here, It"s possible the ignition Module is going bad, no way to test and if so, one day the car will not start at all.----------It can also be a vapor loc, wher the fuel is evaporating before it reaches the cylinders. Best Bet, have your local shop check both these items.

Running fine and then stalled on freeway. after about 10 minutes started up and drove fine

I have experienced this symptom. I'm going to hazard a guess that your problem is the same as mine. A faulty electronic ignition module.
