Question about 1996 Chevrolet Corvette
The jack and wrench also the socket are under the plastic tray located behind passengers seat
If you open the compartment you will see the tray it has a small hole in the front for removing
Once removed you should find all the parts in a styrofoam form
The handle is used to lower the temp spare located at the rear underside of Vette
You will see a bolt head that holds the tire tray up
Loosen until you can slide the tray off the bolt and the tray will lower
Be careful as the rear of the tray is also on a hanger on both sides that may lower on you and must be in correct position to secure

Corvette spare tires are underneath the rear of the car. The jack is in a compartment behind the passenger seat.
Use your search engine and you will find the owner's manual for your car available as a free PDF.

Normally a spare will not fit in the storage area of the corvette. most came with run-flat tires. it is also possible that the car came with a small compressor and some sort or liquid stop leak (ie tireslime) My best advice is to contact a local corvette club or dealer. they can tell you exactly what your vehicle is equipped with.
