sounds like you may have a partial plugged heater core.

SS w/3.8l engine. What would cause the first electric fan not run but when temp rises the second fan will come on?

The coolant fan should kick on when temp reaches 192 degrees. Have you changed your thermostat? The 2nd fan is for the a/c. If car is running hot, it's probably thermostat or cooling fan

Ac does not cool. on max driver side air temp higher than passenger side. neither cools but Freon ok.

Sounds like the blend door is not closing all the way to seal off the heater core. Locate the plenum and the levers that are on it. Check to see which one is for MODE and which is Blend. Make sure they are not broken or loose. Also something that falls in the defrost vents can end up in the plenum and cause problems.

I have climate control on my 2001 Sable. I had my battery replaced today , of course all the electrical in the car went out. When I got in the car my air was off I turned it on it only blows very hot...

try disconneting the battery. take the 2 battery cables and touch them together. Now connect them to the battery, turn key on for 2 minutes, now start car and see if a/c works.

Heat will not shut off when air conditioning is on. When temperature is set to 60 degrees, outlet temp is 105 degrees.

are you sure your ac is working at all. a old school solution would be to put a cutoff going to the heater core in the water hose.

Ac controls for eletronic control

could be a problem with the blend door. common on explorers. open glove box all the way down (bend in tabs to where it will open further than normal) . take flashlight and look behind it to top of black box inside dash. should be able to see tab for door moving while changing the temp. on the control unit. if it is broken should be able to hear cracking or popping from inside heater case.

A/c temp on max 27 a/c temp on norm 50?

Was browsing the ford f-150 forum and found that Ford has a lot of issues with it's AC, some too hot and some like yours, way to cold. At MAX it should read around 42. Best 2 solutions I've found are:
  • Blend door/Blend door motor
  • Dirty EVAP coil
Here's a pic of what the Blend door/Motor look like and instructions on how to replace it. Wish you the best of luck.

Removal & Installation
  1. Release the stops and lower the glove compartment door.
  2. Disconnect the connector.
  3. Remove the two screws. Rotate the blend door actuator and bracket assembly. Remove the electronic blend door actuator and bracket assembly.
  4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Temp control switch does not regulate temp i get heat on all settings except max ac

switch prolly not bad but you might wanna look into your heater control valve. valve not closing and letting the hot coolant fill your heat exchanger rather than recycling it back to the cooling system. The heat is over powering your a/c system and you're only getting a bit of cooling when you have the a/c on max. try it out
