  1. If DTCs are retrieved for the driver door module, go to the Driver Door Module (DDM) Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Index to continue diagnosis. If DTCs are retrieved for the lighting control module, go to the Lighting Control Module (LCM) Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Index to continue diagnostics.
  1. If the driver door module cannot be accessed by the NGS tester, go to Pinpoint Test A . If the lighting control module cannot be accessed by the NGS, go to Pinpoint Test B .

There is a rubber boot that goes from the body of the vehicle to the door , with that door open . There are wires inside that boot that supply B+ voltage an a ground an other wires . They break sometimes an they need to be repaired , soldered , connectors or what ever you can do or afford . First off you need to take the inside door panel off , an pull the switch an test for power an ground . There are videos on you tube showing how to do it . Power Windows
The vehicle is equipped with power windows controlled by the door modules. The DDM receives a window switch request, over the SBI serial data, from either the passenger door module wired to the window switch pressed or from the driver door switch assembly. The DDM checks the Class 2 serial data to see if the status information is correct (i.e. ignition switch position) to permit window operation.
If the status information to permit window operation is correct, the DDM sends the command to the door module controlling the window to move the window as requested.
Windows Power and Ground
The windows are powered by discreet power and ground circuits. These circuits are in the same dedicated connector as the window motor drive circuits.

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Observe the power window switch parameters in the driver door module (DDM) data display, Inputs data, using the scan tool.
  3. Activate each power window switch.
Do all parameters change to the up, down, and for the front door window switches the express states?
Go to Step 10

Does the driver door window switch parameter indicate all four states (Idle, Up, Down, Express Down.)?
After reading this I'm sorry to say, but this is over your head an I'd say your best bet is to take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop .

What could be wrong with the power window switches


Do all the windows work from this switch? Could be the switch not sending power to the others. But, All Jeeps are bad for window regulators.

Do the power door locks work for that door ? Does you vehicle have door courtesy lights , turn signals on the mirror ? If your vehicle has these other options an they work , you have power to the door . There is an electronic module inside the door ,called passenger door module ! where did you check for power at , the window switch ! These are computer controlled an you would only see a few volts when pushing the switch !

2004 Chevy trailblazer. Power windows & locks dont work on driver side front controls. Have all ready removed and replaced control cluster on arm rest. All other wondows work at the respective door,...


Sounds like a fuse. Are you getting power to the driver door module (control cluster as you say). Below are 3 pictures for you. The first one is the location where the fuse box is located for that fuse (under drivers seat in the rear). The second picture is a diagram or the latout of the fuses. The fuse you want to check is the fuse marked "LT DOORS" or the one marked 02. It should be a 25 amp fuse. The 3rd picture is a wiring diagram for the circuit. If the fuse isn't blown check the power wire from the fuse box to the driver door control module. Sounds like a power issue. Driver side and passenger side electric power windows do not work ,how to fix it


both windows ar once ? or did one die and then the other? If both were working good and then all at once both don't work, what about the rear windows? The master switch in the driver door has a yellow with a light green tracer thats the main power wire. it also goes the the the power down module in the center of the drivers door it controls the power locks too and the power down all the way in the passenger door too. the module can fail if both front windows failed at the same time. modules don't fail often but the wires break in the door hinge area all the time and don't buy anything expensive till the wires are traced, The colors or the wires on frods don't change as they go across the car so the yellow wire is the yellow wire at the other side too. pull both front door switches the pull out the window motor wires too and unplug them. now find one color hook your powered test light or OHM meter to it and touch the same wire on the other side and at the motor till you've tested them all, the ones that don't test are bad. put a jumper wire were the wires that don't make and hook up everything and make sure everthing works if they do then you've got to decide how your going to find the breaks and what your going to do about them. The most common place is in the driver door hinge area and the wire harness is inside of a rubber gaiter that fits to the door and the body. it can be pulled out of the door or the body and theres the wires. pull on one wire at a time with a hook or a pair of pliers and the broken wire will pull free it'll be the color of one of the wires tat did'nt make. You can not test anything and just look for broken wires and fix them and it'll be a little faster to repair. When repairing these wires and you want it to lastyou need to join the wire in the door pillar and inside the door as a reaip in the hinge area almost always breaks soon. Pull new wire thouth and connect inside the door and inside the pillar then tie this new wire to the other good ones so the door will open and close smoothly with out pinching the wire with the panel and the pillar covers off make sure the wire doesn't bind at any level of the door being opened or closed and then it's a good repair. all wires fixed and i've seen just one and i've seen 4 or 5 too, check em all as they all have to work or nothing will work up or down, ground or power goes thoght the wire the motors need both to go.
