Question about 1998 Chevrolet Astro
Sounds like it may be bad gas. At least it is the first place to look!
Get a good bottle of Gasline Antifreeze. Pour it in the Gas Tank. Bounce the car up and down a little to get it mixed up with the gas. Start it up and let it run for a little while. Adding ONE bottle of this to your gas every time you fill-up will also help clean your engine and, if you are lucky, get you a few more miles to the gallon. If this does not Fix the problem at least it didn't do any harm. I use it religiously.
