First and foremost, make sure the engine is cool, and has not been run for a few hours...Do this in an area where you can wipe up any spilled antfreeze, because you are going to lose some while doing this...O.k. start by finding the radiator hose coming from the top of the radiator, follow it to the water neck, that is the part covering the tstat. There will probably be two bolts holding the neck on, remove these bolts. Now you may have to tap the neck with a small hammer, wrench, screwdriver handle etc. After getting this loose you should have access to the tstat, make sure your new tstat came with a new gasket, or oring whichever the case may its just a matter of removing the old tstat, and oring or gasket, make sure both surfaces are clean, if not scrape off the old gasket material, dirt, grease, etc with a razorblade, or just reinstall new tstat the same way old one came out, with gasket or oring...reinstall bolts and tighten down...add antifreeze as needed, and you should be good to go.One thing to keep in mind, as you are disassembling old parts, make note as to how they fit in place, the tstat needs to go in a certain way, if installed upside down it will not function properly...

please rate my response...Thank you.

Most teermostat are intalled at the upper portion of the cylinder head, (dischared side) just trace where the upper radiator hose is attached at the cylinder head side. there you can find the thermostat. Can you do it by yourself.

My 1995 Grand Jeep Cheroke keeps stalling. The oil seems to be over heating but the car is not low in coolant or oil. There appears to be a bit of oil leaking from the car. The car smells a bit when I...

Sounds like either a bad water pump or a stuck thermostat. Stop driving this vehicle unless you can afford a replacement. In the meanwhile get it to a garage and have them look at it, also get the thermostat replaced.

1995 jeep laredo suspension swap

If both vehicles are Grand Cherokee's a lot of the components will fit. Some of them are not worth putting used items on because they may already be worn out. The mounting of control arms are virtually the same. The front axle on the 2wd looks like a gutted out 4wd axle. The most common issues with that suspension is the "Trac Bar" and "Steering Stabilizer". Those usually last 60k to 90k unless you take it off-road then 30k. The trac bar is the bar that hooks from the housing over to the frame, side to side. The stabilizer looks like a shock attached to the steering linkage.
Good luck, I hope this was helpful?
