I had a battery replaced in my vehicle and now the odometer does not work. It reads 694,497 and the trip was also at 0. What would have caused this and could it be easily fixed? Thanks for any help.
Cheap solution: Disconnect your negative battery cable for ~20-30 mins, re-connect it, and see if that fixes it. Some cars' computers go wonky if a KAM (Keep Alive Memory) isn't used. This might reset it.
Otherwise, check eBay or a local dismantler for some used, same-year gauges. They go for ~$50/less plus shipping. Replacing it is more time-consuming than it is difficult, and the Chilton or Haynes manual should have the instructions.

My odometer reads the same. My mechanic said it was my instrument cluster, which is a $900 part and $100 to install. I guess I don't really need my odometer.
