Hello its possible your fuel pump is stuck from sitting while someones in the car take your gas cap off put your ear near the filler neck have them turn the key to the on position not start pos listen for a slight hum from tank if no sound check your fuel pump fuse first if good , find your tank under neath the car with a rubber mallet or your hand hit the tank hard enough to cause a vibration alot of times if the pump is stuck this will release it goodluck please rate

Hi if the car was running ok when it was parked up and the battery is cranking at a resonable tourqe you will get it started with a bump start it may need to tow started as the valves and valve seats in your car get a build up of carbon fossilisation which results in low compressions i am presuming you not had a bump in it and thats why its been laid up becase if this is the case it will have triggered the fuel cut out switch just reset the switch yates210456

Car won't start a short time after filling up a tank of gas...

These cars tend to flood from time to time, it seems you have drained the battery somewhat to a degree trying to start the car. Recharge the battery or use jumper cables from another car or good battery, hold your foot flat on the gas pedal and it will probably start. Hope this helps

2003 suburban has been siting for 3 years and now won't start. I can hear fuel pump working when key is ON. Battery is charged. What could it be? It cranks over like no fuel or spark getting to it

If it's been sitting for 3 years I would do as follows
1. Drain tank of all gas, give it some fresh gas.
2. Change the Spark Plugs
Attempt to start it. (Keep in mind it may take a few times to get all that old gas out of the lines)
Sitting it the worst thing for a rig. I advise never let it go without starting it ATLEAST once a month
If that doesn't work make sure it is getting fuel to the motor.
If so it could be your Distributor or Coil. Good luck

Hyundai sonata car not starting

There are some possibilities which you will have to check in this case:--
1) First of all check the power and voltage to the battery.with meter it will show exact 12 volt if the battery is charged.if the voltage is less get the battery charged at local auto repair shop.if the battery is internally drained and not getting charged then its time to replace the battery.
2) When you crank the car do you see spark coming at the spark plug? if no then its time to check the spark plugs and coil pack.if the spark plugs are not worn out and looks new then its time to check coil pack.the spark plugs gets power to spark from coil pack.
3) The other thing to check in this case is the starter solenoid of the car.if the battery is charged and you start the car then it gives power to the starter to start the car.but if starter is faulty or not connected properly then car will not start.
4) The other thing to check in this case is fuel in the car.if there is fuel in the car then check the blockages in the fuel pump if the fuel pump looks proper then check the fuel filter above the fuel pump.
5) If all the above possibilities mentioned above checked out OK/perfect then its a electrical issue and the wiring's in the car needs to be checked.the car gets power from the battery to get the wires from battery needs to be checked one by one.
Thanks. keep updated for any more can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

2005 Hyundai Sonata cranks, no spark

usually the distributor MODULE
they are renound for this sort of drama
get the wiring checked aswell as it may be due to faulty charging & causing computor errors [I hope you didnt short out the battery when you changed it!!!! ]
