Question about Toyota Tundra

1 Answer

My 2003 toyota tundra has a serious problem when i try to put gas in it. it keeps clicking off because gas seems to be backing up in the filler neck and the sensor shuts it off so i am continuously pulling the lever over and over just to put in $15

Gas backs up when refueling which trips the pump lever, so it takes a very longtime to gas up. The filler pipe is NOT blocked, I pulled it out and checked! Thanks

99 buick century i cannot put gas down my filler neck it keeps over flowing and i know it is not full

The vent tube for the gas tank and filler neck is probably clogged or pinched shut. If you get under the car and look at the filler neck you should see a 2nd tube coming off of it, that is the vent tube.

Sounds like you have something stuck in your gas tank maybe someone put something in your gas tank perhaps you might consider a good flash light and a pen open the cap insert the pen hold tight and put flash light in filler neck flap hole to see what kind of obstacle you have stuck in your filler nozzle neck if your unable to see anything you might consider taking the car to certified technician for service to you clogged gas filler neck.

P0442 CODE SMALL LEAK IN EVAP. CHANGED GAS CAP CODE CAME BACK CAP IS OEM PARTS

There could be a tiny rust hole in the fuel filler neck ,or the cap may not be sealing the filler neck properly. Check for rust on the filler neck, and on the sealing surface of the filler neck opening.

Gas doesn't go into tank easily - wants to spit back out. pump keeps clicking off and it takes a long time to put gas in tank. what could problem be? car is a 2000 camry

theres a one way valve in the filler neck of the gas tank and that is spring loaded. it maybe getting jammed up. will need to remove filler necvk and check it's operation. pretty much only thing down there that it could be.

Emission System light is on

Check the fuel filler neck where you put the gas in sometimes the liner inside of the filler neck at the top where the gas cap is gets hair line cracks. Also check and or replace the gas cap.

Can not fill 2002 Ford Explorer with gasoline.

Did you check the vent tube alongside the filler neck? If it is pinched or blocked with something, just what you describe will happen. The air in the tank needs some way to escape to make room for the gas, and it should be through the vent tube. If it's bent, pinched, blocked, you will have a hard time pumping gas in.

1999 CAVALIER WON'T TAKE GAS INTO TANK

After researching this for a lot of vehicles is this:

A ventilation line or the filler hose/neck/tube has possible damage. The only way to know is to drop the tank and inspect the lines going to and from the gas tank to the filler neck where you put the fuel pump nozzle in. If the neck has not been installed correctly, i.e., is twisted or dented/bent, this will cause the problem you are having.

If you can drop the tank and inspect these items, let us know what you find.

Gas tank backs up when filling, shutting off hose

I have seen the same issue, the nozzles click off at some stations, others do not. One thing that I have tried and had a bit of success with is pressing the nozzle real tight against the filler hole. The rush of air coming up the filler neck is what clicks off the nozzle, not the fuel. So, pressing in tighter seems so let the pressure equalize in the filler neck. Try it, maybe it will work for you.
