Question about 1991 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight Regency

1 Answer

If i accelerate to fast it makes this noise( like rolling your rrrr's in spanish)? .

What could that noise be and why does it do that? At times it even does it from a complete stop. If I push the gas alittle more than I intended to. The same sound (Rolling the R's in a spanish word) I almost thought my breaks were stuck and it was skidding.

Remove the starter relay, check for power at terminal, continuity to starter solenoid, and one more thing-jump relay terminals until you get the clicking noise of the starter solenoid trying to engage. If you hear the click at the starter but still won't turn over, tap the starter solenoid two or three times lightly. Check for power at starter lug. Loose terminals at the battery or corrosion is also of importance.

hi ummm...ruggling, thats a new one for me lol, but this sounds like either, the big ends ( these are the things that hold the piston rods to the cranck google it you will see ) have warn or the shell bearings have, and this will cause more of a knocking sound a low rumble as such, or if it is a high pitch type rattle noise this could be the tappits are not getting enough oil to them, but this sounds more like the first bit...hope this helps

Car will not crank

Check battery voltage should be 12v. Have battery load tested. If good recharge, then with a voltmeter across battery terminals try to start engine. If battery voltage drops below 9.5v starter has failed.
